How to get more apps?

I feel like I'm being incredibly dense, but I can't seem to figure out how to do this.

I want to browse and maybe install some apps on to my Fitbit Charge 5. I select my device in my profile menu, and tap "Gallery". I see 3 tabs, "Charge 5", "Clocks" and "Apps". Tapping "Apps" only shows me a list of apps already installed on my Charge 5. From what I've seen online there could/should be "My Apps" and "All Apps", but I don't have that.

The apps already installed on my device are all the ones from Fitbit itself. Literally only just "Notifications", "Exercise", "Alarms", "Timers", "EDA Scan", "SpO2" and "Settings". I think it had some "Heart Rate too high/low warning" app that I deleted (just to see if I could, and I can, but now I don't see it anywhere). If I tap any of the apps, I get "More from the Developer" at the bottom of the page, where I can find "Relax" (also from Fitbit) but it is labelled as not being available for my device. I can't access any other apps, nor any other developers.

What am I doing wrong here?

@babloyi   There is no SDK (Software Development Kit) for the Charge 5 or any other tracker.  All apps and clock faces come from Fitbit.

@Shawfan   If you can find the Fitbit page that called the Charge 5 a smartwatch, can you provide a link?  I can forward this information to Fitbit for correction.

Hello @babloyi

First make sure you are using the latest version of the Fitbit App. If not update it. If that’s not the case try logging out of the Fitbit and force shut the app by swiping it upward. Now uninstall the Fitbit app and turn off your phone for 1-2 mins. Restart your phone and reinstall the Fitbit App and sign in as you normally would with your username and password. Sync your tracker then go see if the gallery appears normal now.
**You will not lose any of your data reinstalling the Fitbit App
😃 Keep me posted on how it goes.

That was a lot of stuff to do, none of which worked! I don't know what "gallery appears normal" is like, because I've always had it this way. I don't even know if I can install any other apps on my Charge 5

Just wondering….do you use VPN? I’ve heard it can have issues at times. Just a thought

Nope, no VPN, on either of my devices, or set up with my router (also tried on data and at work network)

Gosh @babloyi I feel terrible. Sorry to be the bearer of bad news. It’s my fault for not looking into it further. I apologize. Your pretty much limited to what’s already installed at the moment. The smart watches have a lot more flexibility to accept 3rd party apps than the trackers. Currently your particular Tracker is limited.

@SunsetRunner and @babloyi - The Charge 5 is still a pretty new item to Fitbit. I've only had mine for about a week and having spent some time looking for different clock faces have found that there is a limited amount of those at this time.  Can't find them through the regular channels on Fitbit, unless I use MegaBite's idea myself maybe.  Will have to try that next.  Otherwise, will need to see if I can locate them through google.

BTW, the Charge 5 is both a Tracker and a Smart Watch according to Fitbit.

How can one use a clock face found on google?

@babloyi

You can't if it's not posted on Fitbit Gallery and specially designed for Charge 5.

Since no third party can develop and publish anything for Charge 5 what you probably found is just a concept.

@Shawfan maybe pretty new (i think already 8 months old).but it didn't get any meaningful update and seems already disbanded by Fitbit

Can I please know why the reply by @LZeeW has been chosen by @SunsetRunner as Best Answer instead than mine?

Your answer was also very good, @Rufous44 but I selected @LZeeW ‘s answer because she gave the reason why there are no apps or clock faces from third parties for the Charge 5. She also asked where @Shawfan saw the misinformation so she can report it to Fitbit for correction.

You have been answering quite a few questions in the forums that I’m sure are helping other Fitbit users. As a fellow user, I thank you!

I got this problem too. The best I could do is click on one of the apps then scroll down and some suggestions show up. There is also more from this developer option.

Other internet sources say there should be an "all apps" option which we don't have.

I think most users don't ever explore these apps.
