Since I have got this watch the step counting has been way off. I work from home at a sit down job and in a couple hours it shows I have stepped more then 1000 steps so it must be counting my arm movements. So by the end of work I have more then 5000 steps which if it was correct I maybe done 500 steps while at work. Is there a way to make it not count my arm movements to it is showing more correct steps I am doing. I hope so since it is driving me crazy with how off the step counter is......

It's not even your arm movements. Mine sits on a counter all day and racks up 10000 to 15000 steps there. It's made it impossible to use it for calorie tracking.

Welcome to the Fitbit community, @Horsecrazy83!
Sad to hear that you're having issues with step counting with your Charge 5.
To get best possible accuracy on step counting, your Fitbit device needs to know as much of you as possible. Please have a look at 'How do I change my birthdate, sex, height, or weight?' following the link below to see how to enter your personal data:
How do I manage my Fitbit profile?
Very important to get better step count accuracy is having set up the correct stride length. You can enter that manually or by using GPS while doing corresponding exercises. Please have a look at 'Can I change my stride length in my Fitbit account?' to see how to do that:

I did adjust it manually but it still counts steps why I am sitting at my desk.

Thanks for your feedback, @Horsecrazy83. Next I'd suggest to see if restarting your Charge 5 will fix this issue. Before doing so you should make sure you've synced your device to not lose any data tracked so far. Next please closely follow these instructions as timing is crucial for this procedure:
1.) Connect your Charge 5 to the charging cable which has to be connected to a reliable power source.
2.) Press the button located on the flat end of the charging cable 3 times within 8 seconds(!), holding each press for about 1 second(!).
3.) Wait around 10 seconds until the Fitbit logo appears on your device's display.
I'd like to point out that it sometimes requires more than one attempt to restart Charge 5. So, before throwing the towel, please give it another try.
I'll keep my fingers crossed.
