My experience with Charge 5 and Customer Service

The Fitbit Charge I purchased has proven to be yet another disappointment in a long line of subpar products from this company. This marks the fifth Fitbit device I've owned, each of which has managed to fail conveniently right after the manufacturer warranty expires. It's almost impressive how consistent their devices are at becoming useless paperweights just when you need them most.

Oh, and let's not forget the customer service dance that follows. The scripted apologies and hollow promises of "looking into the issue" only lead to one solution: a measly 35% discount on another device. It's as if Fitbit is playing a cruel game of bait and switch, luring customers in with flashy advertisements and sleek designs, only to pull the rug out from under them when it matters most.

At this point, I can't help but suspect that Fitbit's business model revolves around selling devices that are designed to fail just as the warranty safety net disappears. It's an absolute shame that a company would resort to such tactics, preying on loyal customers who simply want a reliable fitness tracker.

If you're considering a Fitbit device, do yourself a favor and run – run far away from the deceptive allure of their products. Save yourself the frustration, the wasted money, and the inevitable disappointment. It's time we hold companies like Fitbit accountable for their shady practices and demand better, because we deserve devices that actually deliver on their promises.

Hello there, @Jshanklin85. Thanks for stopping by in the Fitbit Community Forums. We‘re taking into consideration your comments and sentiments with regards to our products and services.

Thanks for your question about why we offered a discount towards a new Fitbit product instead of a replacement of your existing Fitbit product. Our limited warranty provides repair or replacement of products that have a defect while still in the warranty period. Since your device was out of the warranty period, and therefore was not eligible for repair or replacement, we wanted to offer you a discount to thank you for your loyalty to Fitbit.
