Is it okay to wear my new Charge 5 swimming or surfing? What about during hot yoga?

I wore mine swimming one time and it hasn't worked the same since. The screen went black for 2 days, now it works but will only hold a charge for a few hours. I can't even wear it for sleep info. It's brand new.
