My Fitbit hasbee working fine. This afternoo. I tried to do an update. Now it won't sync and I have a red circle Woth white x.
The post I found and went through had a best answer which was no answer in my opinion.
It's basically new. Is it dead?

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing that you've been experiencing the same inconvenience with your Charge 5.
If you already tried all these basic troubleshooting steps mentioned here earlier that have been helpful with these type of issues, I do recommend that you contact the Customer Support team so they can provide you with the next steps. You can click here to get connected.
Thanks for taking the time to share all your feedback and comments about this. The team continues to work to improve the Fitbit experience.
Best AnswerWill Fitbit address the fact that so many of our watches crashed beyond repair after installing a Fitbit update? Clearly it's a system problem, yet for those of us beyond our 1-year warranty, we're simply being offered a discount to buy a new product? That doesn't seem like a reasonable solution when so many customers are experiencing the same "inconvenience".
I agree.
I have tried all of their methods over and over, and I've contacted customer support. They were not helpful.
What absolutely kills me is that I had NO issues prior to the update. I updated and boom it's been a nightmare ever since. I've been researching other Fitbit type devices to find a replacement. I just can't support a company that clearly is doing nothing to fix a problem they created for many customers.
4 month old Fitbit charge 5 & with all these complaints must be an update issue. Just got off the phone with them and was offered a replacement or 50%off another model but can't get the Google pixel. I suspect Google trying to put Fitbit out of commission.
Oh and the CS rep wanted me to plug it in to the charger and press the button 3x and if that doesn't work change the clock face. Neither worked.

Same here! I’m done monkeying with it. Brand new and I’m a long time Fitbit user. I’ve never had issues until this Charge 5. My Charge 4 was YEARS old….
I have a new one coming, but I’m not optimistic that the issue will be resolved. We shall see!
Yup, did an update last night. Working fine, battery at 39%. Oddly, it wouldn't turn on when I tried to check the time so I double tapped to no avail. Then it said 6% battery, shut off, we.t into boot loop then red circle white x. Unresponsive.
Yes, I bought a charge 5, January 2022. I took excellent care of it. Dad had an old charge 3 screen dim out and die, so I bought myself a new Charge 5 and gave him my barely used one. I thought he'd love the color screen. Within a week of him using it, it got the red circle with the white x. I've tried every trouble shoot method. The two ways to reset and also let it die out. Occasionally I get the Fitbit logo to show up but then nothing but a blank screen. When I disconnected device and tried to reconnect, bluetooth is unresponsive and app cannot find device.
I've gone through several Fitbits since 2016. I don't know why I keep buying them if they only last a year. I just keep thinking maybe the newer model is better.
Customer service said my charge 5 was out of warranty as well and emailed me a discount code that did NOT work. Which really sucked on top of my watch randomly stoped working. No glitches leading up to it, just stopped after full charge. I now have the red circle with white x after trying to force reset many many times. Going to try to let battery run out rather then keep on charger to try and reset and see if that works.
Best AnswerGoing to give this a try since I have literally tried everything including YouTube tips. Fitbit sent me a bogus discount code to buy a new one since mine just ran out of warranty. I have a watch with premium membership with no watch and afraid to get a new one after reading some of these reviews.
Best AnswerI took mine off, cleaned the back with alcohol, cleaned the gold charger pins and connected and reconnected the charger until it showed it was charging. The next day Uninstaller and reinstalled the Fitbit app, did a sync, and its been working ever since.
