Resting heart rate not computing Charge 5

Replies are disabled for this topic. Start a new one or visit our Help Center.

It seems my resting heart rate has not been computed the last few days in the app. The charge 5 is recording my heart rate all day and night but just no resting number. Any ideas?

Have had same problem since July. Support replaced my 4 for a 5, same problem. Last week my RHR was shown on TWO days only. Not even the --

shows any more. Blank screen on my phone.

Support cannot help in my experience since July to resolve the fault

Hi my heart rate shows but not the resting why ?

Best Answer

same here, it has been intermittent for me since mid December. I figure once enough people complain about it they will eventually fix it for everyone.

just one week didn’t work but then fitbit didn’t sync so I did factory reset and didn’t work as I didn’t remove data - fixed it now - does resting heart rate post at end of day -? I see it on my heart rate such a pain

Thanks I will try it (again)  I know I did the factory reset/delete data and reinstalled the Fitbit app and re-paired the two , but I’m not sure if I did that all at the same time on the same day or on separate days. Guess I’ll find out tomorrow morning if it fixed it.

I find it's still a matter of luck how many days in a week it shows the
data.

You are correct @Dennis626  after reinstalling Fitbit app and redoing the factory reset on charge 5, redoing blue tooth “forget” and “find” and setting up a new charge 5 device I got my calculated resting heart rate  for ONE day , then the last 2 days nothing again. I can’t understand since the daily heart rate data is visible, why they simply cannot calculate the daily average for the past 24 hours. Oh and did I mention the daily data is visible.

That's my experience too. Total unreliability, but the daily heart rate
graph is visible on my apple ipad but not on my Samsung phone. There the
graph only shows when a rhr number shows. BTW I have a charge 4 that is
exactly the same. Like you i don't understand why the data is not resolved
daily without problem. And nobody at Fitbit has ever been able to explain
it either. So now I am just resigned to the fact RHR is an intermittent
piece of data provided. Cheers

Hi everyone, thanks for all the information that you've shared so far about this issue with the resting heart rate.

Several factors can affect resting heart rate: stress, alcohol or caffeine intake, or fever usually raise resting heart rate, while regular exercise or meditation can lower it. Air temperature and certain medications can also affect resting heart rate.

Keep in mind that Health Metrics tile is not available in all regions. To see if the Health Metrics tile is available in your region, see the health metrics page on the Fitbit website.  If you're still having trouble, make sure to complete a restart procedure using the charging cable and follow the instructions in this article to improve the accuracy of heart rate information.

In case the problem is related to the app, please follow the steps listed here below:

  • Log out from the app.
  • Clear Cache and Cookies for the Fitbit app on your phone's settings.
  • Log back in to check if you're able to see your data.

You are not on the point it seems. The RHR is not being shown as a number
regularly. It's intermittent and factors you describe that may affect the
number are irrelevant when no number is shown.
