Sleep data changes

Why did Fitbit change their sleep tracking screen? I absolutely HATE this new arrangement. The sleep tracking feature was the main reason I wore a Fitbit. The screen went from being very user friendly and attractive to a bunch of ugly lines! Being able to tap on a particular aspect of my sleep which would then change into an enlarged and more elaborate display is no longer possible! Why would Fitbit take a feature that was great and RUIN it??  I no longer have a reason to want to wear a Fitbit.

Hi RAD001

I will wait until May 8th then decide my next move.

As of the last update, nothing has changed regarding the idiotic sleep display which is impossible to read! I’d say your tech department better get busy, or Fitbit and google will be losing a lot of customers!

Hi Caroltav, true. I wear mine infrequently now. No point in feeling sick looking at it.

Hi I'm unable to vote for your post or reply. I'm unaware if you will
receive this email. I hope you do.
As I'm on a CPAP trial for OSA, I only wear and check in my fitbit rarely.
I will change after my 2 cruises and stop using my charge 5
I prefer Android. 😌

Hi again. Your message was excellent,  I'm sure your tweet was not an issue for anyone except "we know who"

I wish you well too.

I totally agree. All recent upgrades are useless. It’s as if they change things for no apparent reason other than to justify someone’s wages. Please revert back to the previous sleep data, it was so much easier to understand. I am seriously considering dumping Fitbit altogether

I'm not wearing mine at night. I will wear it when I feel like it. Customer service should be paramount. Many will move to other brands.

Me too! Im waiting till the 8th to see if they revert back..someone else
shared w me how to uninstall last update...haven't tried yet. What i find
unbelievable is my friend who just bought a charge 6 and is new, and on a
free 6 month premium has the old format! That is what really pisses me off
having been a fitbit user for 6 years!

You said it perfectly, @GComm. I look the other functions (e.g., steps) some of the time, but the sleep tracker WAS the most important function for me. Now it's unreadable. It doesn't have the tick marks showing the hours at the bottom, so I can't tell WHEN I woke up during the night. It's also gone back to the old problem of failing to record the first 60 to 90 minutes of sleep. Last night, it said I slept for 4 hours 42 minutes--and gave that a "good" rating of 81! The night before, it registered 5 hours 19 minutes, but gave that a rating of fair/69, so it's wildly inconsistent. And beside all that, the colors are flat ugly. When all the trouble hit last year, I spent time shopping for an alternative. I didn't find one I liked then, but clearly it's time to look again.

@Shanti26, if you're successful at uninstalling the update, please let the rest of us know!

Appalling action. Until we all discard our devices no action will be taken. The app stated there's no spo2 data but if I tap on the reading is there 98%. Under sleep details my oxygen is always marked low range. I wore it last night just to see if it's returned back to normal.

Some kind of acknowledgement would be appropriate though.

Somebody wrote about an update due in May regarding the sleep tracker? Has anybody seen it?

Best Answer

I was expecting the update on May 8th - instead, my fitbit just dropped dead. Won’t start up.

FITBIT people: 1) are you fixing the sleep tracker back to what it used to be? 2) it seems you crashed a load of fitbits with this latest update - what recourse do we have?

Best Answer

I've been very disappointed with the new sleep display.  I would like to be able to go back to the previous version

Many of us are. Google can afford to loose us. Much better prior to this.

I agree 10 year user here, despite all my data being with Fitbit, I'm also thinking of switching to Oura or Whoop. I pay premium, I need the sleep data and the updates is unreadable, unusable And we need to roll back. Since Fitbit is not responsive about this, I'm considering other options. Very very disappointed

You said it all correctly.  Once a highly rated and efficient and effective tracker.  There seems to be no recourse for us. Not happy about having to shop for an alternative.  Why is Fitbit and Google not responding!
