I have recently been getting a HUGE mismatch between what my wrist unit and the app says in regards to number of steps taken. Sometimes the app shows 2-3 times the number shown on my Charge 5! Also I can walk the exact same route and it will be a quarter-mile or so different from one day to another! Do I have a faulty wrist unit or is Fitbit just wonky?
Thank You

Hello @JaxJim
There is a known issue on the Fitbit side that affects data syncing between Fitbit devices and the app, including step tracking. There's also an issue that affects distance tracking.
The team is aware of the issues and has been working on fixing the problems.

I've encountered this issue since Sept. 1. At first, I followed the recommended resetting options. I tried it for several days. It didn't work. I thought my Charge5 was defective so I switched to another charge5 I had. I'm still encountering the same problem. It occasionally disconnects from Bluetooth. When I reset, my steps are back in sync. But at the stroke of midnight, before my very eyes, the value of my steps drop in the app. FRUSTRATING! It's been a month and they still can't fix it? I wonder if Google is intent on fixing it or wants us to buy their more expensive smart watch.
