For many months after purchasing my Charge 5, I received what I believe were very accurate reports of my sleep. In the past few weeks, however, I see one or two reports each week that are completely unrealistic, and they range from one extreme to the other. Several times they have indicated that I went to sleep at 7pm, when in fact I was watching TV or doing other things until after 9 pm. Several other times they have indicated that I first went to sleep sometime after midnight, when in fact I am almost in bed and sleeping soundly by 10 pm. I am wondering if there have been updates that cause my data to be interpreted differently. If this pattern continues, I doubt that I will renew my Premium membership the next time it is due.
I have been having a similar problem. When I check in the morning lately most days it shows I went to sleep a couple of hours after the time I actually went to sleep. Which means the stats are useless. Hoping someone will have an idea how to fix this.
I don’t think my Charge 5 has ever tracked my sleep accurately, which was so disappointing. That’s one of the features I was excited about. Even though I most often go to sleep by eleven, my Charge 5 rarely starts noting sleep until the wee hours of the morning. I tried changing the sensitivity choose to sensitive, which may have been worse. I switched back to normal & the sleep tracker is never right.
My son was going to give me his old iWatch. Maybe I should have taken him up on that offer.
Hello @Jim-in-AZ , @B_r_49 , and @EM923
This help page explains how Fitbits track sleep (<-- click link). When we don't move for about an hour, our Fitbits starts tracking us as sleeping. This happens to me when I'm watching a movie, reading a book, or working on my computer for extended periods. I delete the erroneous sleep log in the app.
When my Fitbit doesn't track my sleep properly, I edit the start and/or wake time in the app. It usually takes a bit of time, sometimes an hour or so, for the app to update my sleep log, stages, and score. It does eventually update. If my sleep was broken into 2 logs, I delete one and edit the other with my sleep start or wake time, depending on the log. It took me a while to accept that deleting a sleep log only deletes the time frame and not the tracked data.
