charging a Fitbit Charge 5 in Europe

Has anyone tried charging a Fitbit Charge 5 in Europe? My Fitbit was working normally until I tried to charge it in Germany and received a battery warning message. I then plugged it into a battery pack and it went up to 30%, but did not function. Back in the US I tied charging and doing the 3x button pushing routine and the Fitbit logo flashed several times. However, the device never turned on after that and I have no idea if it charged or is completely dead. Has anyone had a similar experience and a solution? Thanks for reading!

That's odd.  A USB port should be the same 5 volts everywhere in the world.

A lot of threads here with what is likely a firmware update bricking Charge 5's (including mine a few weeks ago), but I wouldn't have expected the battery warning message if that was the case.  It just goes to flashing logo, then eventually goes black.

It seems you are not the only who had seen a battery warning: https://community.fitbit.com/t5/Charge-5/FitBit-5-Critical-Battery/m-p/5671191#M69330 . More have experienced a suddenly occurring problem before it’s get stuck in a loop and the screen stays black or restarts continuously.

I do believe it is both a firmware issue and a hardware problem with it’s battery. My wife has a charge 5 which is 1 year older than mine (which is only 13 months old), but only mine is faulty. Maybe a bad production batch ? Luckily mine was still under warranty.

Anyways, you should contact your retailer if it’s still under warranty. If not you may want to contact google support and open a case at https://support.google.com/fitbit. I don’t think they can solve your problem, but then again .. nothing ventured, nothing gained.
