Charge 6 not syncing

I bought my Charge6 about 4 months ago to replace an ailing Charge2 (which had always been very reliable). 3 days ago it stopped syncing, having given a few problems with this over the last month or so. I tried restarting the device and re-installing the app on my phone, after deleting all previous Fitbit devices from Bluetooth settings. Now it won't pair with or set up the Charge6 at all and doesn't recognise it, despite me following all the instructions as if I was setting up a new device.

Help please!

Hello @RiekoC ... reinstalled the app and it's still not working for me.  That last update was on the 25th.  For those of us with Premium subscriptions, they better start pro-rating our annual fees - or extend it by however many days we're without the service.  Going on day 7 ... LOL  I did notice that Fitbit has posted on the Help Center page with the following ... We’re currently investigating a syncing issue affecting some Android users. Thanks for your patience while we work on a fix.

Hello @waldo39

The updates usually rollout in waves. Keep checking the Play Store for the update.

There does appear to have been an update..  or rather a roll back. The App in the app store is now 4.28 as Waldo says.... and it still doesn't work. Fingers crossed for 4.28.2 🤦

Hello all

Please see the Moderator's post from today (29 Oct 2024) on this thread (<-- click link). She states that the fix is rolling out in app version 4.28.2.

The app updates usually roll out in waves. Keep checking the Play Store for the update and install it when it's available for you.

If you're still seeing the syncing issue after installing the update, please let us know.

Thanks @RiekoC for sharing this information.

Hi Everyone.

Thank you for sharing the details regarding this difficulty with the Fitbit app. Just wanted to add more info to the @RiekoC's post.

A bug that caused issues with syncing and pairing has been fixed. Sorry for the inconveniences that this may caused to you. Please, upgrade to the Fitbit App version 4.28.2 since it includes a bug fix. If you don't see an update available, please wait until this will be available.

Updating to this new app should solve the syncing/pairing bug (i.e. perform a manual sync by pulling down on the Today screen to determine if syncing is successful.) If after updating your Fitbit app you still have this situation, please restart your phone.

If restarting your phone still doesn't resolve the issue, the steps listed below are the recommended troubleshooting steps to solve these problems:

  1. Update [Android] Fitbit App to 4.28.2.
  2. Open the Fitbit App, on the Today tab tap on Devices (Device icon, top left).
  3. Delete any connected Fitbit Trackers or smartwatches, if any are shown.
  4. Go to Android Settings, Bluetooth (Connected Settings) and "Forget" any Fitbit trackers or smartwatches if any are shown.
  5. Restart phone.
  6. Open the FitBit App, re-add the tracker or smartwatch (via the Devices icon, top left).
  7. From the FitBit App, Today tab, Tap/Hold near to the top of the screen and then drag down to perform a manual sync.

Thanks @RiekoC  for your help.

Thanks ReikoC. I sincerely hope this works. You may want to advise Google there is a new priority update as the Play Store is still only showing 4.28. I shall try again tomorrow. Hopefully the new update will be available and will solve the issues. I assume I shall need to uninstall and reinstall the new version.

I think I will wait to see if the update actually solves the issue.... I am really tired of being a unpaid beta tester for Google...

Hello @RiekoC ... I updated to the new app version, did all the reset/restart watch & phone and still NOTHING!!!  I'm getting really aggravated.  Maybe I'll try my Luxe again to see if it'll sync.  I'll let you know.

My Luxe won't sync either ... this is beyond pathetic.  How can something work perfectly a week ago and then nothing!  Guess I'll return the Charge 6, cancel my premium service and go back to a regular battery watch.

@DavidFitbit - Nope, doesn't work - even with the latest Fitbit version 4.28.2 ... doesn't even recognize my Luxe which worked fine until the 22nd, let alone the new Charge 6 I just purchased.  I think your engineers need to go back and try again - or - revert to the previous version that DID work until they can figure it all out.  This is just beyond unacceptable.  You're going to lose a lot of customers if you don't do something fast.

The new update is installed and it still does not work. The App finds the device, a charge 6, but cannot connect and the 4 digit pin does not appear. I have a Samsung A13.

It all worked fine up until the 22nd. How hard can it be to go back to a version that worked!...

Very poor service and your customers are not receiving the services they have paid for...

Back to the drawing board. Zero stars for fitbit and Google. 😫

Hello @ManuFitbit

Please see all the replies after your post from yesterday. The users are reporting that version 4.28.2 didn't fix the syncing issue.

Please let support know that the issue hasn't been resolved with the 4.28.2 update.

Thank you in advance.
