Charge 6 not updating

When I open the Fitbit app, it shows a message to the effect that an updated version is available and invites me to either UPDATE or CANCEL. Clicking on UPDATE takes me to the Fitbit app page of  Google Store which shows a blue button OPEN. Clicking on this button takes me back to the Fitbit app which then dialysis the UPDATE AVAILABLE message...

What is going on???

Hi there @pathopeter!

It's great to see you here in the Fitbit Community!

Thank you so much for letting us know that your Charge 6 is not updating.

I suggest you try to do the following:

  1. Turn your tracker off and on again.
      1. Connect your device to the charging cable.
      2. Press the button located on the flat end of the charger 3 times with one-second pause between each press. Then wait 10 seconds or until the Fitbit logo appears.
      3. Another way to restart your device is to unplug it, wait a second, and plug it back in. Repeat this process 3 times in an 8 seconds interval and then wait 10 seconds until the device restarts.
  2. Restart your phone, and retry the update.
  3. Log in to your Fitbit account on a different device, and retry the update.

Thank you for responding... I was hopeful for some practical advice, but...  Seriously, does your App Manger actually look at how basic processes are managed...???

And, as I thought I made clear in my original post, mu issue was with the FitBit app (dashboard) that is loaded on my iPad, so I fail to see the relevance of restarting the FitBit itself

That said, the nag screen has gone away now, and diving into the Apps Store does not indicate that any updates to the FitBit app  are available. I am left with two possibilities:

  1.  a ham-fisted attempt at pushing out an app update, since withdrawn; or (less likely)
  2. an equally ham-fisted attempt at hacking my Fitbit app
