The new fitbit charge 6 doesn’t pair with Iphone. It shows the pairing number, but when you insert it in the app, it keeps hanging and then says something went wrong. Connection to device timed out. Tried restarting phone, app, fitbit, same result.

Update: returned the device to Google Store, using their pre-paid fedex shipping label. Fedex lost the package in their Memphis hub blackhole. Fedex is ready to pay Google Store and gave a claim #. Spent several days, multiple hours, asking google for refund, explained that they won't receive the return because Fedex confirmed they have lost it. The support keeps reading their script -- don't worry we are working very hard to resolve your case , and insist that they must wait for the package to arrive before they can refund 😠

I have a same problem with my Android. About to send it back, but I decided to call fit bit. They gave me instruction to clear out data and that works
Hi Ron,
Thanks for contacting us and trying the troubleshooting steps required for your Charge 6. We will be more than happy to continue assisting you with this matter.
Let's continue working together, performing a factory reset on your Fitbit device. This procedure deletes any stored data, which includes all data that hasn't synced to your Fitbit account and your alarms, goals, notifications, music, and everything that is stored on it.
To do a Clear User Data, using the Charge 6 button sequence ''short press - long press - short press''.
After that, you have to do the set up process again on the app
Let us know if that solves the issue, we will be attentive to your response.
If something else comes up, don't hesitate to contact us again, it's always a pleasure to assist our Fitbit family members.
If you have any other questions, please visit help.fitbit.com
Sincerely,
Sebastian R and the Fitbit Team

unplug the usb and plug back in 3 times (or repeatedly it will vibrate each time) do not use 3 clicks until it reboots

Doesnt work. Nothing works on this Charge 6 **ahem**.
----
Didnt work

Doesnt work. The only thing ghat works is FitBit taking our money and offering little to no support or ownership for the poor performance if their products.
Their app is as crappy as their product. Been a user since 2016 and have never had a successfully working device.
Sent from the all new AOL app for iOS

What is a force quit? I too am having trouble syncing my Charge 6 with my FitBit app that I used my prior Fitbit with. I have turned off and on the Bluetooth but it does not update or sync

I was so frustrated with setting up Charge6 that I then tried to set up Charge 4 again. I have accurately followed all these steps as they are the same ones as on the website. I cannot get my Fitbit 4 to pair.

I've been having the same problem. Mine won't even charge up. The helpdesk person I talked/chatted with kept insisting that I should be able to charge it for 30 minutes. Total failure. I had mine sitting on the charger that came with my phone for about 24 hours - nothing. It keeps telling me to update the software on the tracker and that I need to "download the fitbit app" (which has been on my phone for years) - after I'd already somehow managed to get my phone app to see it. I tried decoupling it from the phone, now all I get is it timing out.

Blue tooth does not recognize the device. Without bluetooth the app cannot recognize the device
Removed ALL devices from Blue tooth, even non fitbit devicesTurned off bluetooth on all devices in the house but my phoneDeleted and reinstalled the appCleared cacheReset Charge 6 (3 short presses on the charging cable button) succesfulTried to reset data on the device (1 shirt, 1 long, 1 short press on the charging cable button) never successful
There are no error messages. The Charge 6 always shows "download the app" , shows the logo when I press the button or shows the battery charge.
I did all this multiple times with multiple support techs and on my own over 6 days.
I tried all the above on my iPhone 13 and my iPad. Same results.
After 6 days of this they said I have to move my account to Google. When the app itself says current users dont have to move the account until 2025. I've been a user since 2016. But without bluetooth connecting to the device the app cant recognize it.
In the app when I choose connect Charge 6 it moves past the Connect screen to "Move account ". It says you "should", not "have to" and gives you the option to say no. If you say no it tells you that you can do this later. If you choose move account it gives you a screen which tells you what you will be sharing with google and asks again if you "want to" move the account. Again if you say No it says OK you can do this later. It never takes you back to the Connect screen because the device is not present in Bluetooth to communicate with.
FitBit pulled me out of the Community Board to work privately. When they couldn't resolve it they sent me back to the Community Board.
----
I tried that multiple times with and without the tech support. The Long press never gives a confirming vibration. I timed it with my stop want on my iPad. 5 seconds for the long10, 15, 20 all the way to a minute. Multiple times at each period.

Agree. Against my better judgement I ordered a Charge 6 after my 5 died. Can't even get it to connect.

I dont even get a pairing number
----
Tried all of that multiple times with tech support and many more times on my own. 6 days of trying. Eventually tech support said to go back to the community because nothing they suggested worked. No "let us replace it with one that works", just "go find your own answers"

My Charge 5 didnt last two years, I'd be hesitant to buy one now, especially since they have replaced it with the 6

Fitbit shouldnt be learning from us, Charge 6 is your Frankenstein, you should be solving our problems.

I'd suggest alerting tech industry reporters - this is clearly a widespread problem that Fitbit is not taking responsibility for.
