Thanks for letting me know about this situation in regards to the heart rate tracked during your rowing machine workout using your Charge 6.

Thanks. I don’t believe my heart rate is being recorded correctly during exercise. I’m 84 years old rowed this morning for about an hour including some crunches, stretching, push-ups, and kettle bell swings. Average heart rate recorded was 93. I don’t think I’ve suddenly improved my fitness level.

My charge 6 seems to be reading my heart rate correctly. Have the criteria for zone minutes changed? I seem unable to get zone minutes unless I get my heart rate above 100. That’s insane. I’m almost 85.

Thanks for following up, @Caldwell39.
Thanks for letting me know about this situation with the Active Zone minutes. You earn Active Zone Minutes for time spent in the fat burn, cardio, or peak heart-rate zones. This means that your heart rate needs to be elevated, the Fitbit devices calculate active minutes through metabolic equivalents (METs). This metric, which factors in your body mass, is used to estimate exercise intensity, so this is not related with age but with body mass.
You can find more information here.
