No ECG and SpO2 on Charge 6

ANSWERED
  • New charge 6.
  • Iphone 13 ios v18.5
  • Charge 6 version 66.20001.214.24
  • Location is correctly detected as Denmark/English

ECG is missing on both app and device. Spo2 is missing on device but shown as installed on app.

Spo2 was actually visible on the device after I first started and updated the device. But then restarted the device in an attempt to fix the ECG and it caused SpO2 to disappear from the device. Uninstalling and installing Spo2 did not fix it.

Reinstalling the app and restarting the phone did not fix anything.

Something seems to be terribly wrong with location detection of signed-in devices

  • profile -> your data in fitbit -> manage signed-in devices
  • found my windows and iphone, with both of them location was KR (I am in Denmark, never been to Korea)
  • disabled wifi from the phone, connected 5g
  • revoked both devices, went back to the fitbit app, refreshed the app by pulling down
  • went back to the manage signed-in devices, iphone was there but this time location was US!

Not sure if this is the culprit of the issue but there is definitely something wrong about location detection of signed-in devices.

Hello @hanginthere

It does seem that the location detection is causing havoc with your access to SpO2 and ECG.

You could try clearing the cache for the Fitbit app on your phone. There might be some temporary files causing a problem.

Have you had a chance to try setting your location manually to see if that will give you the SpO2 & ECG features?

Hi

I reinstalled the app and it did not fix anything so I do not think this is caused by cached data.

Even though fitbit location was detected correctly, I still tried to disable auto-detection and that did not change anything too.

The wrong location detection I mention is about the signed-in device location, not about location in fitbit settings. Not sure if that is causing this issue, just a theory. Even if it is not the cause Google should certainly fix that too.
