Out of the box Charge 6 not working

Right out of the box the brand new fitbit charge 6 will not recognize that the app has been installed on the phone, and therefore continues to say download the app.  The phone has recognized and connected to the fitbit as I can see the app and I am getting a failure to sync message.  I am very disappointed.

I have exactly the same problem. my brand new Fitbit Charge 6 just says download the mobile Fitbit app.

Yes, that was exactly what this one did as well. I sent it back and will look for another tracker.

Do the setup process again. Your setup was not 100% completed. Alternatively, you can wait until the next firmware release. 

Do not remove your Charge 6. Through the Fitbit app, Add device - Choose the Charge 6 - ignore the warning - Confirm to continue. 

This sometimes happens when the setup process was interrupted because of a network issue
