Petition to have a weather app for the Fitbit Charge 6

We NEED a weather app for the Charge 6, it's a very basic feature compared to having Google maps and YouTube music, so it could easily be done especially on a tracker that's $AU250.

If this gets enough traction and a weather app does come to the charge 6 it should be implemented on the "Home Screen"/"Clock Face" by having an icon of what the weather is and a number for the temperature. For the actual app (on the watch) it should display an icon for the current weather condition, the temperature, the suburb, and options (C°/F°, What location you'd like to see and a "My current location" and a forecast for a few hours ahead, this could be more detailed with humidity and other things but I'd doubt fitbit would do that.

You should be able to customise the weather app from the Fitbit App, by having the same settings as on the watch and extra settings in the app, an option to sync forecasts to the watch for a certain period of time in the future (if the watch uses this as current data it would have a "Forecast"/"potentially inaccurate" label in weather app), the weather should use accurate sources of weather for example in Australia the BOM is the most reliable source (Not WeatherZone) and finally an advisory against exercising in certain conditions/Weather alerts.

I really hope that a weather app is added because a watch like this is supposed to be "Convenient" however without a weather app it's very inconvenient to unlock your phone and load a weather app when it could be on your wrist.

Strongly disagree. There are already plenty of Weather apps available for phones, computer, tablet; you can get the weather forecasts on tv, radio, etc. or just ask Alexa. Fitbit tracker developers should be focused on developing more (and more accurate) personal biometric measurements (eg blood pressure, if that's even possible), ways to track personal fitness progress, etc. while keeping the device as small as possible.

I wish I had bookmarked the article I read on Fitbit's pending patent for blood pressure. So, that is something that they are looking into.

Very interesting tech, and not easy to achieve or the medical community would have already done it -and fitbit would have included it on the Charge 6. From the article:

"PTT and PWV, which was the focus of the 2021 patent, are related but distinct concepts used in cardiovascular monitoring. PTT is the time it takes for a pulse wave to travel between two specific points in the arterial system, often from the heart to a peripheral site like the finger or toe. It is usually measured in milliseconds.

On the other hand, PWV is a measure of how fast the pulse wave travels through the arterial system. It is calculated by dividing the distance between the two points by the PTT and is typically expressed in meters per second."

totaly agree ! unbelievable that there s no weather app with wind, UV etc on this Fitbit ! even on my 30€ Xiaomi there s one

Actually, the native Fitbit weather app that was installed on my old versa 2 does work on the charge 6. It installed on my tracker. It doesn't sync right away, but is functional

If you Google Fitbit weather app, it'll show a link to Fitbit's weather app, and install it on the charge 6. I've posted pics of it working on mine

I'd love to have a weather app again. I used the weather app everyday on my old Fitbit 4. I was shocked the 6 doesn't have the option. Very disappointing
