A new and irritating bug appeared the last day or so... I set my FitBit Charge 6 Screen Wake = MANUAL... it is all good and well for about 10minutes and then resets to Screen Wake = AUTO.
Tried all things, changed the Face to the default one, reset the FitBit, enabled/disabled sleep mode, and some other settings... each time, reset from Screen Wake Manual to Auto.
I realised, EACH time the Mobile APP syncs, the Screen Wake setting is reverted to "Auto".
FitBit App is latest, I also reset the phone - (not yet gone so far as to fix Google's mess and uninstall/reinstall the FitBit App)
Suggestions - other than to reinstall the app
Charge 6 (Firmware 220.31)
FitBit App (Android, v4.61.1)

SAME!
Not having this feature work is actively annoying me. I have to sleep in the pitch black and now I frequently get woken by the device screen.
I have found turning Bluetooth off helps but then what's the point in the device?

I tried that but it didn't work. 😠 I know what you mean about needing pitch black!

For me turn Bluetooth off helps for a longer period of time, I think when Bluetooth is on it resets every 5 minutes. I have a Google pixel device.
I'm hopeful this is resolved soon, if not the device will go in the draw 😂

I've been having this issue as well this past couple of days! It wakes me up during the night, is getting frustrating.

Had the same issue ... not that it is a fix to the original reported BUG, but use the sleep mode schedule (under Quiet Modes) .. this sets the screen to lower-brightness and forces manual mode screen wake and seems to work.

I confirm the same behaviour on my Inspire 3. It is really annoying.

This bug is also happening with the Sense 2.

Well, this is quite annoying.
The only possible solution for a workaround what I've found to set the Sleep schedule up for the whole day, so the screen wake setting will keep it status to manual.
Also, I'm wondering, how and why a generic answer for the support is marked as best answer?! They offer no solution (yet) and no help in this issue at all.
I have a Charge 6, bought it in early January, I was more or less satisfied with it, but this whole auto wake thing seems a bit messy (in firmware and in communication wise).
Hopefully, we will receive a fix for this soon - it can't be that big of a bug at fw/code level... so a quick fix would be to set the default value for the screen wake to manual instead of auto...

Same with my Versa 4. Hopefully someone is working on a fix.

My sense 2 in the last couple days has started to set itself to screen wake at wrist motion and not button only. This is draining my battery. Tried all the obvious trouble shooting but still no luck. Very annoying and battery draining, especially when I can get like 3+days from my watch, (brought new early Dec)

This (sleep mode) works for me as well, on Inspire 3. Of course, it means you get no notifications or movement reminders so it's a crappy workaround, but it's either that or killing the battery because the screen keeps going on.

My fitbit sense 2 is draining faster because my setting to change from button-wrist to button only will not save it - I change it and it changes back

Hi @far5ide72 Many people are having this same issue and it is affecting all four current models. Although I usually keep may screen wake on auto, I have it, too.
I recommend that you stop changing it and check back on the forums to see when other users say that it is fixed. You use up battery every time you change it. You can also set your screen brightness to Dim.

That is not a fix - just give me the proper way to fix this issue of the settings not saving

Yeah me too. Set to manual but it reverts to auto.. Come on Fitbit- FIX THIS NEW BUG!
I get rudely awoken by the light when I roll over at night and am thinking about not wearing my Fitbit at night which kind of defeats the purpose..

@far5ide72 Fitbit/Google must fix this. There is nothing you can do to fix it.

I'm suffering the same problem in the last couple of days and it's extremely annoying! I had no idea it was due to the recent update, but if it's not just my Versa 4 then it gives hope the bug will be fixed soon. Fingers crossed!
