SpO2 no longer on my Charge 6

ANSWERED

Today SpO2 is no longer available on my Charge 6. When I go to check it says you need an app, but then says it is not available. It worked fine since September, so has this function been eliminated in a recent update?

Spo2 stopped working on my Charge 6. The app and firmware are up to date. App states it needs an addon which is not available. Previous comments indicate this is an ongoing issue for a couple of years that occurs randomly and has no resolution at this time .please devote more resources to this issue.

Recently my Charge 6 fails to measure SP02 and shows "installation App necessary".

I have tried to uninstall and reinstall the SP02 app as well as the Fitbit app on my mobile phone Samsung Galaxy A53.

Can anyone help me please?

Hello @RandyMc

As far as I've seen, the current SpO2 issue hasn't been fixed yet. The Moderator will be posting updates on this thread and will let us know when the fix is rolling out.

Still not working on Charge 6 as of 8/11/2025. The first failure was on 5/23/2025 and the last reading I have was on 7/7/2025. It failed intermittently between May and July and has not worked since. As a CPAP user with obstructive sleep apnea, this is one of the main features I bought this device for. Google should sell Fitbit to a company that actually cares about a useful product. Google obviously does not.

I am having the same issue.

8/13/25 Same here, brand new Charge 6 a week ago and had to work through restarting snd uninstalling the app just to get EKG working but Spo2 is still inop. When will this be fixed? Seems like an ongoing issue. You buy a car and expect the electric windows to work but if they don't should you be upset? Should I return this junk and buy a different product? Please help!!!

Same, I bought Fitbit charge 6 yesterday and today I wanted to check my oxygen level while sleeping. It says no data and install app says unavailable. Other than that everything works

Suddenly this morning I have Spo2 data! After a week of wondering why it wasn't working and trying everything suggested like rebooting, reinstalling, Bluetooth re-pairing and charging that it has finally appeared! I wish Fitbit would tell us it takes a week or more for this feature to start. Maybe I wasn't sleeping well or wearing it right, who knows! Just happy I finally have everything working! My stress level is lower!

I just bought a Charge 6 and after a week I am having the same issue. I had already installed the SpO2 app and it was working fine for a few days. Now it has stopped working and says I need to install the app, which is not available. And I've also already experienced my first Bluetooth connection headache a couple of days ago. Not sure if they are related. Regretting getting another Fitbit. I was hoping these sorts of issues had been fixed since I bought my last device.

Yes if you un-pair and "forget" the fitbit on your phone while trying to fix a connection issue it doesn't even show up as available when you re-scan for a few minutes. Eventually you get a message asking if you want to pair but before that it's invisjble.

Hello @xEnakil

It might take some time for you to get your first SpO2 reading.

This help page (<-- click) has the information on the Fitbit SpO2 feature, including some recommended troubleshooting.

It would be helpful if this "delay"  was stated in a more upfront and convenient manner that could avoid the frustration and confusion we new Charge 6 owners are experiencing. Somewhere like in the basic information about Spo2 in the app instead of an obscure and inconvenient "help" article. Also, numerous articles talk about making sure to first install the Spo2 clock face which is not available to Android users. I know because I searched for it in the app "gallery" which is also not an Android app term for the clock face selection page. Really very Apple iOS biased and alienating for the 50% of users that are not in that cult. Luckily  my Spo2 mysteriosly started responding with Spo2 readings after a week of waiting and worrying that my Charge6 was faulty and submitting problem reports and searching message boards and "fitbit help". Totally unnecessary lack of communication and instruction.

Spo2 is now missing again after one day working and I'm getting the "app install needed" message again. I did absolutely nothing but wear it continuously. This is infuriating!

No fix for this? Mine was installed a couple of days ago and I saw the reading after sleep yesterday morning. Now it tells me I need the app, but not available? We pay a lot of money for your devices.

none of the recommended fixes have led to this problem being solved for more than a day or so.

seems that it should be a priority now given pervasive challenge and market claim of being a strong health monitor.

the AFib function works very well; puzzling that this is so much more confounding
