Charge HR froze last night during update. ☹️ now not functioning at all. Had bar across screen half is shaded and half clear with an exclamation mark at times. 😩

Absolutely follow this guys advice! All the reps from Fitbit have told us that we would have to buy a new device. They said whatever you do, don't unpair from your Bluetooth or unpair your device! After weeks of suffering without my device, I followed the steps you listed here and it's working just like before! Thank you!

Hi.
Can I suggest
- forget this device on phone Bluetooth
- turn off Bluetooth
- wait a few seconds and turn Bluetooth back on.
The phone automatically found my device. It finished update in a few minutes and had worked fine since.
This worked for me and hopefully will work for you.

Nice @Whaler

Could you add any advice on here what they told you to do.

This might be the cheat sheet below that they are using to walk most through the process.

Why can't I update my tracker.

That is essentially how it was fixed. Problem could have been that tracker wasn’t fully charged for update. However it was even weaker on second attempt but it caught and finished reset quickly this time. Fully working now.

i had same problem this is what i did

  • remove charge HR from list of bluetooth devices– deleted it
  • reset my charge HR---

connect the fitbit  charging cable to my laptop

then held the button on the charge HR for 10 to 15 seconds

  • then started my fitbit app on my phone
  • looked like the charge HR started to finish the update

after it was complete

      5) re started my Bluetooth connection – it found the charge HR (paired with it)

I am amazed. This process worked wonderfully after being frozen for over a week. I didn’t know what to do so I took to google. Thank you “Fitbit community”. I couldn’t have done this without your help.

So glad for you. It’s frustrating to get used to an instrument and have it quit on you.
Enjoy!
