Let us delete in-app notifications/messages

This is clogging up my iphone. I have a year or more worth of useless Fitbit notification messages I'd like to shed. I saw a 'solved' notice in here from a year ago stating it was resolved by stating there is no solution. This is simply ignoring the myriads of request/votes of customer requests/concerns to fix it. Fitbit should have had a REAL solution by now and apparently do not. In reality this problem has not been resolved but simply is being ignored by the company/moderator. The solution 'solved' to put a vote in ideas does not address the real concern or issue at hand. What's the point of a community forum if Fitbit does not listen to its customers? The thread should have flagged Fitbit/moderator to produce a real fix, we're still waiting.

Does anyone know of an idea on other forums where we could raise this issue? It’s obvious that Fitbit is not listening to their community. We need to make this very visible outside of this community. If enough people are aware and they start to lose sales, then maybe they’ll listen to us.

Yes! Get the executives at FitBit to address this customer issue by NOT buying their products UNTIL they fix it!

My notifications are full and new ones stopped posting since June 2017. Yes, 15 months.   This is of no value and is taking up precious space on my phone.

Hey Fitbit, I want to buy a new Versa, but I won’t until this issue is resolved.

Hey Fitbit, if you don’t listen to us, you won’t have repeat customers and word of mouth will decrease future sales.  I used to recommend the watch to friends and family.....BUT NOT ANYMORE!

Hey Fitbit, this issue was raised over a year ago. It is not good enough to tell us “reviewed by moderator”. You need to tell us why you Ent listen to us.

Hey Fitbit, I just posted a negative review on Costco.com because of this issue. Amazon is next and I’m going to continue doing this until you respond to us.  I encourage this community to do the same.  It’s the only way our voices will be heard.

Great idea. We should all do this.

I just tried to post a review on Amazon and I can’t.  I got a message saying they’re not accepting reviews because of “unusual activity”.  Either there are a lot of angry people out there or Fitbit got to them.

I’m moving on to other retailers to post reviews until we get a response.

Folks, my fit bit stopped working and I simply threw it away. The product and the company are garbage. I’m buying an Apple product. Can we stop posting? It’s a waste of our time....

Will not stop posting until We get a response.  Since you no longer have a Fitbit, maybe you’ll stop reading these posts?  BTW, I was finally able to post on Amazon under the Blaze. Couldn’t do it under the Versa watch.  I did post that this affects all their products.

Facebook or Amazon?

Well done. I did the same and posted on here that I had reviewed on Amazon negatively, as you have done. Fitbit moderator removed my message from this space saying it was defamatory!!! Talk about abuse of freedom of speech, let alone not acknowledging their product is sub standard!!

That does not take into account those who are not aware of this and therefore they keep buying Fitbits.

Maybe we need to bombard Fitbit on Twitter. That often works with
companies....

Good idea! I've stated that before and had the post censured and removed. Just hope enough people see it before the post, and probably this one too, are removed.

I have been asked by people to accept their friend requests on my Fitbit community and then have been sent inappropriate messages which has led me to delete and block them and will not accept any friends that are not my personal acquaintance. I don't want to see those messages any more, they are so creepy. Please, please let us delete our own messages. I'm almost ready to just delete the app because of space issues also but I just enjoy the challenges too much. 😫

If anything should convince the execs at Fitbit to permit us to delete messages and notifications that is the reason! It is bad enough that inappropriate messages get through, but having to reminded of them because they can NOT be deleted in incomprehensible.

It has been over a year since I first visited this forum seeking a way to delete messages, alerts, attaboys, etc., that are Fitbit generated and remain on my phone in perpetuity. New folks have chimed in, weary long timers get fed up and repost, and nothing is done. The "votes" total doesn't seem to change in proportion to the amount of disgruntlement exhibited. The result: No substantive changes. No response from Fitbit. I'm convinced no one—with the exception of you stalwarts—is paying any attention. We are simply singing to the choir and no one with authority to effect a change seems to be seeing any of it.

I doubt that will change. Sure the fix seems simple enough, but why expend resources on this pesky little gnat of an annoyance when the fix really isn't marketable. Can't imagine a product introduction that says, "This great new upgrade FINALLY solves the totally annoying inability to delete messages that have been clogging users' phones for years!" Upgrades in heart rate alerts, female health, route incentives, etc., are much sexier and provide much better PR copy. And those of us who abandon Fitbit as a result of this tiny (perception: Fitbit) problem are mere collateral damage.

I just tweeted at them and I suggest everyone starts doing so. Every day.
Tweet at @Fitbit and @FitbitSupport. Publicly complaining via Twitter can
go a long way.
