If I get an international SIM card when travelling, can I use that while abroad?

Unlike a traditional LTE smartwatch, there isn't a way to assign this device to a carrier. The device's LTE coverage is managed exclusively by the Ace pass.

Hello @happy_fan
The Fitbit Ace LTE uses the Ace pass for connectivity, which is currently available only in the USA. So any functions or features that require internet access (location, calls, text) won't work outside of the USA.

I'll double check, but I don't think this device has a SIM card that can be swapped. I suspect it may have an eSIM, which seems to be the trend for smartwatches & wearables.

Best AnswerLet me rephrase. Is there anything preventing this watch from being assigned a carrier with international coverage?

Best AnswerThat still does not answer my question. It wouldn't be roaming if your eSIM is local. Same for coverage.

The Fitbit ACE LTE product is great and my daughter loves it. However, as a parent, I wish that the Ace Pass has more flexibility, when it comes to international coverage. We travel often and want to keep track of my daughter, while we are travelling, therefore, If the LTE coverage works in Canada, that would be a good start.
Hello @jeevesS
Thank you for letting us know that your daughter is enjoying using her Fitbit Ace LTE.
Please consider submitting a feature request in the Product Feedback forum (<-- click link) for Ace LTE coverage in Canada. The developers monitor this forum to see what features are being requested for potential future implementation.
When you submit your request, please reply to this thread with a link to your request. This way, other parents/guardians can add their vote & comments.
This is totally my opinion: I wouldn't be surprised if Ace LTE coverage in Canada would be one of the first areas to be added.

Hello @Gene82
A family traveled to Asia and the parent reported that steps, location, and messaging worked over Wi-Fi for them. Here's the thread (<-- click link).
Although they didn't mention games, I'm thinking the games should work since those are on the Ace device.
