How do I use treasure trek on Versa 2?

I have set up my child with a versa 2. Their mobile device is wifi only. Is there a way for them to use all functions of tresure trek withput a sim or the device nearby

Treasure Trek o think may be a location based app, and may need to have an idea of the users location.
