Hi,

I received an Ionic for Christmas but I am unable to work out how to get the Weather App to work.

I currently get the message "Go to the Fitbit App to setup the Weather"

Thanks

@NSure Thanks for your reply! It's unfortunate to read that this didn't work after trying the steps provided.

Could you please update the Fitbit app for Android devices to its latest version? (Version 2.85 released on January 10th, 2019)

Then, try to set up your weather location once again and let me know if that makes any difference.

Hope this helps. Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

Hi, app update complete. Same result, ie crashes when a letter is typed to search for a city. Cheers.

Would you mind to send me a screenshot showing what you're getting when trying the city @NSure

If the app is crashing, can you also try uninstalling and reinstalling the app? Before doing this, make sure you've synced your tracker. Additionally, restart your Ionic by following these steps

Looking forward to your reply!

I have a new iconic and cannot  change the weather location.  It is set to San Francisco  and I have updated the current location to my city which is in the UK.

Have switched the device off and on,

Any advice would be great as its as it’s driving me insane 😡

Welcome on board @TraceyR, it's nice to see you here! Can you please let me know what's the model of the phone you're syncing with?

As mentioned along this thread. If the weather for your current location doesn’t appear, check that you turned on location services for the Fitbit app. For instructions, see How do I allow the Fitbit app to use my phone's GPS?

If you change locations, sync your device to see your new location in the Weather app.

To change the units used for the temperature in the Weather app:

  1. Open the Fitbit app and tap the Account icon > your device image.
  2. Tap Apps.
  3. Tap the gear icon next to Weather. You may need to scroll down to find the app.
  4. In the Temperature Unit section, tap Units and choose the unit you want to use.
  5. Sync your device and then open the Weather app on your device to see the updated units.

Hope this helps, keep me in the loop!

Hey there @TraceyR and @NSure, thanks for getting back and for the screenshot provided! I recommend confirming that you're on the latest version of the Fitbit app for Android, version 2.85. Once confirmed, please give opening the app another try and let me know if you continue to experience the issue.

I have this issue not only with Fitbit but with other apps on my tablet. What I do is the following to make them work as a workaround:

Log out from your Fitbit app and go to your phone settings. Access to the App manager option and look for the Fitbit app in your downloaded apps list. Once you are there, clear the app cache and data and proceed to "Force Stop" the app. Finish the workaround by restarting your phone one more time. When your phone has initialized, go back to your app and try again.

Hope this helps, let me know the outcome! Woman Very Happy

Sorry, this "solution" does not work. First of all, there is no "save" option on the app settings window.  Second, when I try to "add city" nothing happens. Third, "current location" shows up automatially on my Fitbit screen, and is fairly close to my actual current location (about 3 km away), and yet, I still get the message, "Sync the Fitbit mobile app to update"   with the location listed and no temperature showing.  Quite frustrating.

Thanks for jumping in here @AndyAtkins and @Chapkk! Can you please guys let me know if you've checked and tried what I posted here?

If you're getting any kind of error either on your tracker or Fitbit app, please send me a picture/screenshot of it.

Looking forward to your reply!

@AndyAtkins @Chapkk Thanks for your replies and for sharing those details and trying some steps in order to sort this out.

So, if you already tried the steps shared on this post and you keep experiencing the same trouble; I'd recommend trying a different clock face. Please download another clock face and let me know if you keep experiencing the same. You could try using a Fitbit developed one as well.

Keep me posted! Smiley Happy

My issue is that I don't see how to change temperature units from celsius to farenheit, Unable to see information on how to do it anywhere.

How do I set it up? Please start at very beginning. Do I do it on my fit bit or iPhone?

How would changing the clock face have any effect on the Weather panel?  I will try as you say, but Inimagine the message will be the same: “sync the Fitbit mobile app to update.” So many have experienced the same issue and many seem to have given up.
