When is Fitbit going to partner with Spotify to bring better music to the watch. This is a no brainier for me and so many others. Spotify is the #1 music service in the business! I love using fitbit but am considering moving to another watch that supports better music streaming.

do you have a target date on when spotify will work on the ionic?

Any updates on this? It's been 2 months since this was posted and Spotify is still not available to download on my Versa Lite since the latest firmware is not available for my watch, but both the Fitbit and Spotify websites advertise that it is compatible with this watch.

Hi Matt,
I just purchased Fitbit versa 2. I'm quite disappointed to see that Spotify app on the device doesn't work during exercise mode.
Is there anything going on that'll make it possible in the future?

Needless to say the Spotify app on the ionic is useless. I don't want to connect to my phone, my phone stays at home when I'm out on a run. Please enable offline mode with Spotify. I'm struggling to understand why you'd bring out this app with no offline support?

Hi @MattFitbit. I wouldn't really say this has 'answered' the question. People want offline music for their watch, not an app that will play through a connected phone.

When is Spotify going to be compatible with Fitbit Ionic? It's been 3 months now. I would definately not recommend buying a Fitbit since we can't connect to Spotify, only **ahem**ty apps that no one uses.

Do you have to have spotify premium to use it on the versa models?

Hello:
Is there any update on if/when Spotify and/or other apps will become available on the Ionic?

Just updated my Ionic, very disappointed. Spotify is now available on one watch but not others? Surely it's not out of the capacity of your tech team to add Spotify (like the Deezer app) to the Ionic?
If you have a new service add it to fitbits in the plural (makes customers distrustful that fitbit want to make people update their watches)

Is there anywhere that addresses Spotify with Fitbit not considering "Spotify Premium with Hulu" an actual premium subscription? I have that subscription plan and the fitbit app is telling me I can't use the spotify app on my versa as it is not a "premium" account....but it is

I also like fitbit and Spotify. But Spotify more, because running without music I get bored.
So I have another watch. But I heard that, finally, the new version of fitbit supports Spotify.

Hi, I just got a Versa 2 for Christmas! I am excited, but I thinK i just realized that I can't use spotify if I go for a walk or run with just the watch..I have to bring my phone, so the watch can connect to spotify on my phone? Is that correct? Is there another product that would let me access my music when I don't have my phone with me? Or do I have to download songs to the music space on the watch? Thanks!

Hi @ckennings, you have to bring your phone. I find that it's a rather pointless app to have.

@ckennings Garmin and Samsung watches support offline Spotify playback (not all, check for models).

Hello. I also care about this question whether can I only run for an hour listening to my Spotify through my watch. Because if I run around with my phone, I'm sure I'll get calls from work and being disturbed. I don't like it because it distracts me from the right attitude. A minute of sport for me is not just running, but an opportunity to be with myself, listening to my favorite playlist and that no one distracts from this activity. Then my brain will be able to relax. As for Spotify, I am very happy with this app. I even ordered the promotion of my account on this site (https://spotistar.com). And so, I will soon have a good rating and many people will be able to enjoy my playlist on Spotify.

@t.parker @ckennings Argos have the Garmin 645 Music at a crazy £199 at the moment. If I didn't just get a replacement Ionic (for the awful firmware update) I would have jumped ship to this device.
Crazy that other brands can offer offline for Spotify and yet all Fitbit can offer is the Spotify Connect. I'm annoyed that they advertise it like it's a great app. They do fail to mention that you need your phone with you.

When will we see Spotify working in an offline capacity with Fitbit? The main reason I purchased my Fitbit was for running, while using my Spotify for music. So gutted to find out this can't even happen...

I waited for 2 long years for Spotify offline support to be provided to Ionic. I'm moving to another brand that has native offline support for Spotify. the reason I spent money on ionic was not to carry my phone around while running and today I still have to carry it (thanks to No offline Spotify support)

This didnt help, Matthew... this brand is a joke and I highly recommend anyone that feels the need to buy a smart watch, buy from another reputable brand. I've had two brand new pairs of the fitbit flyers not even come close to working upon opening brand new packaging. And not to mention the Ionic I bought for the purpose of spotify use while running without a phone. Fitbit doesn't even have the decency to give us an update on an ETA of when this will work. I'm convinced they are just hanging that donut in our faces to try to get us to buy more or a "newer" product that supports this feature. I truly believe that Fitbit is useless. PLEASE BUY A DIFFERENT BRAND PEOPLE.
