I recently got the Ionic Fitbit and love the idea of feeding a cat with steps. I have tried everyday to download and install — but no success. It fails every time. Is something wrong with the app? Or am I missing a step?

Hey there @Fluffy2Flat, it's nice to see you around the forums! Are you getting any error message?
To install an app:
Fitbit Pet is a third-party app that doesn't belong to Fitbit, the way it works is according to the developer in charge (including its features). Although we don't provide specific troubleshooting or support for Fitbit Labs apps or clock faces at this time, we welcome user feedback as we look for new ways to deliver smart, insightful and motivating experiences. Share your feedback through this form.
As you progress through your steps each day, you will see the number in the bottom right corner count up. Tap on that area any time it’s more than zero, and a little food bowl comes out to feed your dog or cat. You have to earn enough of those treats to feed him 5 times each day or the next morning the doghouse will be empty. If you tap on the envelope in the dog house you will see a picture of your pet and a figure for the number of treats he wants. Once you have earned your treats tap on the little circle with the treat number earned and your pet will come back to you.
Something that I've noticed with this is that the steps that increase the number in the lower-right corner have to be steps you got on the Fitbit Ionic. If you have more than 1 Fitbit tracker, and you get your steps using your other one, and then sync both so that your Ionic reflects the updated step count, then the number in the lower-right corner on the Ionic screen with your pet will not have increased. The interactive clock face seems it only pulls step data locally, from the device (the tracker itself), instead of from the account.

Thank you for the information, however I am still unable to install the
clock face, Inca. I have checked my WiFi, my battery is charged, and
followed your instructions as stated in your email. Several times. Is there
anything else I can do? I am really excited about this app and love the
motivation with it. Please help.
Thanks!

Thanks for following my suggestions @Fluffy2Flat! Let's try one more thing, I'd recommend restarting your Fitbit Ionic by following these steps.
Then, try downloading the Fitbit Lab and see if the issue persists. If you're still unable to download this app, I'd appreciate if you try downloading any other app just to see if the issue is coming from that specific clock face.
Looking forward to your response!

Thank you for suggestions!! Before I started to delete the app, I plugged
in my phone to charge it, and then my watch started to vibrate. I looked
at the clock face - and there was a brief view of Inca!! But it went away.
Once I reconnected the WiFi — I was able to download the Pet Inca!!!
Now. My only problem is keeping up with the steps to feed her treats!! LOL!
Thanks again for your assistance. I truly love this new motivation!! And
cats. I just LOVE cats!!!!

Hi!
I have the FitBit Versa and I encounter the same problem. I uninstalled and reinstalled the FitBit app, I did a Factory Reset on my FitBit, I repaired it again and again. I can install new clockfaces, however, when I try one of the pets of the FitBitLabs, it takes forever to download and it just basically doesn't do anything. When this is going on, it's impossible for me to check my WiFi settings. Also, after I try a FitBitLab clockface, it's impossible for me to change to another clockface (since it just keeps on downloading, with no button for it to stop) and it only works again when I repair my Versa.
Could you please tell me what I'm doing wrong?
Thanks!

I finally figured out my problem... when I plugged in my watch, a quick
image of the cat popped on then back off. So I tried it again, but this
time with the watch charging. So I got my WiFi on my phone and WiFi in the
Fitbit settings to be on the same network— then installed the Fitbit Pet —
and it worked!!! I am now a proud owner of Luna! Trust me, I am very
motivated to keep her filled with treats! LOL!
Let me know if yours works, too. Good luck!

Hi!
Thanks for the explanation, however, do you know approx. how long it took you to download the pet? Because mine is taking forever... with both my Fitbit and phone plugged in and on the same wifi network 😞

Hi!
Thanks for your patience and explanations, however, nothing worked 😞 I keep getting an 'unable to install' error and I'm not sure what I am doing wrong, and it seems that no one encounters the same problem... I'll try to contact FitBit Labs and hopefully it gets solved.
Thank you so much!

Welcome on board @Bbgxriver, it's nice to see you around here! Have you tried what I posted here?
Can you please let me know what's the error message you're getting? Would you mind to send a screenshot of it?
Looking forward to your reply.
