How To: Create Your Community Signature

Signatures are a great way to share a bit of your personality and flare with the Community! You can insert an inspirational quote or a link to your website. You can even update your signature regularly to invite others to join your current favorite Community discussions.

Get started by heading to the Personal Profile section of your Account Preferences, as pictured below:

  1. Go to your Community profile settings by clicking the gear to the top-right. Choose “Settings"
  2. Click on “Personal Information
  3. Create your signature and hit "Save"

*Please make sure that your signature follows the Community Guidelines.

Get creative with HTML

Without HTML code, your signature will look like this:

Add some flavor with these HTML tags. (Fill-in the bolded text with your words of choice.)

  • To change font type: <font face="FONT NAME HERE">TEXT HERE</font>
  • Font size: <font size="FONT SIZE #">TEXT HERE</font>
  • Text color: <font color="#XXXXXX">TEXT HERE</font> (For a list of HTML color codes, click here.)
  • To bold: <p><b>TEXT HERE</b></p>
  • To italicize: <p><i>TEXT HERE</i></p>
  • To link a word or phrase: <a href="INSERT URL HERE">TEXT HERE</a>
  • To enter a line break: <br> (Insert before the word/phrase you’d like to appear on a new line.)

HTML in action

Here are a few examples of ways the above tags can be used.

1. Font size and color.

@mariefnp The Fitbit Community has its own Settings page - separate from the one on the Fitbit Dashboard. You can access your Community Preferences by clicking that gear at the top-right of any Community page, and choosing "Settings". Once there, click the "Personal Information" section to access the Signature field.

We've updated the article to help clarify this - I hope that helps!

I was looking for information on creating my signature and went to personal information but there is no signature section there.  All I see is my contact information and where to set like your stirde length etc under personal information.  If I click the gear icon and then settings and then click personal information, I can see all kinds of information but no signature area.

@carmensimpson See my post right above yours. The Fitbit Dashboard settings are different from the Fitbit Community settings. Try clicking the gear while you are viewing the Community and you should get to the correct Settings page.

With all due respect Maria, there is no Personal Information choice when I click the gear.

These are the only options that I see:

I feel like I'm missing something here... I tried following your steps but I only have the option for Personal web page and About me.

Ok, soo weird, I tried again and now the signature option is there! Do I have an admin to thank? 🙂

@mb127 Brand new forum members will have to wait a little bit before they can use the Signature feature - this is to prevent malicious spam accounts from using it for spammy purposes. I went ahead and approved you, so you should be all set now. Sorry for the confusion!
