@betpchem Thanks for pinging me!

Modertors to have the ability to change usernames, though we do our best not to. For historical purposes, we like to have usernames as they are when they're initially created.

If you feel like you're going to be around the Community pretty regularly, and you have a good reason for wanting to change your username, please let me know by sending me a PM.

Thanks!

I think maybe a moderator can change it. Is that right @EmersonFitbit

That's correct @betpchem

Though changing names has a certain impact on the forums, a name can be changed once.

I don’t want to change my first name, but made a typo for my last initial.  What are the chances of having that changed or will I forever be stuck with my typo.  I don’t really care that it’s wrong or feel any great need to correct it.  Just thought I’d ask.

The only way to change your name is to delete your account. Then sign up with a new one. You will lose your post count if that matters to you. Otherwise you are stuck with what you have.

That’s interesting as further up in the postings a moderator chimed in with a potential solution.
