Refund for Premium subscription due to the Features removal

Hi,

Only reason I joined Premium was for the Bingo challenges to do with friends as it really motivates us all. They are getting rid of them and says in my email that we have the right to cancel before the changes on the 26th April. I thought if we do cancel early we would get a refund due to Fitbit getting rid of prime features. On chat I was told no! So why give us till the 26th April to cancel our premium membership if no benefit comes from it? Has anyone else been told different?

Thanks in advance.

Hi @jostepper, welcome to the Fitbit community! And thank you very much, @LZeeW , for flagging this post. That was really helpful.

Upon checking our records, it appears that you have already contacted our customer service team. However, I would like to share some important information regarding your refund.

We offer a refund for users who have a yearly subscription and have been affected by changes in some Premium features. However, please note that this refund process may not be available if you purchased your subscription through the Apple App Store or Google Play Store. If this is the case, you should contact the relevant provider for more information about their refund policies.

I tried to get a refund today after calling Fitbit.  Fitbit directed me to call Apple Support for a refund.  Apple Support reported that they could not issue refunds after 60 days.  My subscription does not expire until late August.  How is this fair to us?  I also wasted money on a new watch.  I would have never purchased a new watch if I had known they had plans to pull all the features.

Best Answer

Exactly!! They told me no refund because I subscribed through Apple!

I had the same problem. Last year I couldn’t renew with Fitbit. In fact, Fitbit was trying to charge me for Premium when I had an active subscription with Apple. Right now I am completely 💔💔💔to find my Challenges and Bingo gone. This is how I stayed motivated. This is how I have gone 400+ days of hitting my goal - and not feel isolated. Bring back Bingo and Challenges!!!

I feel you. 💔

I had no idea they were this shady.  I feel just as you described.  The Challenges saved my mental health during Covid lockdowns.  I connected with some incredible people from all over the world.  Thanks for sharing 😊

For those wishing to continue with challenges, have you checked other social media platforms to see if they have any that fit your needs?  If not, you can start a group on FB or IG or whichever you prefer.  Encourage others to join you there and set your own challenges and chat away.  Wouldn't that work?

My group is actively looking for another app ... we are trying Stridekick first. If anyone has any other ideas, please share. I can't find a "Bingo" challenge anywhere, but as far as I can tell, Fitbit is probably DOA for us now. The challenges were the only thing that made it different from all the others. If I wanted a Google Watch, I'd have one.

It's not the same. These linked to the app and had competitions. My personal favorite was Bingo. You had a pattern - just like a bingo card - to complete by competing with friends. Some spots were minutes, some steps, some miles. It drove me to be active.

Yeah, I'm on Stridekick, too. It's something  but not as exciting. Maybe if they realize why people are flooding to their app, they will come up with more creative challenges as well.

One more thing - I had a challenge I started and the minutes aren't registering, so that sucks.

I'm so glad that my free time is still active. Definitely will not renew premium when it expires. I'm with most of you, I want my BINGO back! Hate that I upgraded from the Inspire 2 to the Charge 5 back in January. Used my healthy benefits allowance (which I call my play money) to buy it. If I had know fitbit was going to get rid of the best features they had, I would have bought a different brand.
