Refused Refund for Subscription after free year

I received a free year's of Premium as part of the Ionic recall. I've now been charged for another year. Fitbit support are refusing to refund me. I did not subscribe to another year. The first year was free. Any ideas how I can get my money back?

The replacement I got for the Ionic broke and I no longer use my Fitbit

Me too. I still have my Fitbit but don't need Premium. I initiated a dispute through PayPal, providing my order confirmation which included a free year subscription. They have refused my claim on the basis that I didn't provide enough documentation, but it's all I have. I have never signed up to an ongoing subscription, and have never been contacted to tell me that my subscription was coming up for renewal.

Hey @EmsCost and @AlanDavies, and welcome to the community!

Unfortunately, Fitbit can't offer refunds for Premium subscriptions at this time. I understand this might be frustrating, but it's our policy.

Fitbit is committed to providing you with the best possible experience with Premium, and I believe that the features and benefits it provides are worth the investment. You can learn more about Fitbit Premium by clicking here.

If I walked out of a shop with a Fitbit without paying, and told them it was not my policy to pay, they would pretty soon be calling the police. There was no notification that the year's free subscription would automatically be renewed and billed. It is not good enough to hide behind the small print of terms which were not drawn to the customer's attention, especially when I understand that your terms also require you to notify the customer before the renewal date.

Thank you for your response. I have repeatedly tried to explain I got the premium subscription as part of the Ionic recall.

I stopped using my Fitbit when the replacement for my Ionic broke after 3 months. I stopped using my Fitbit and now stuck with paying a service that is of no use to me. Meaning it has cost me money to have my Fitbit recalled.

Why do you have this part in your terms-of-service documentation then?

"At any time for any reason, we may provide a refund, discount, or other consideration (“credits”) to some or all of our users."
