Flex stop syncing since Fitbit App update

Hi There !

I tried everything already mentioned : restart , re-downlaod , update phone version (iOS 14.2), update app version and paper clip method ... still don't sync. ( seems still working though light and charge properly)

I try the customer service too without success ..

Any idea to fix  it ? I really don't want to give up on my Flex as I like the simple design and functionality - don't really  really like the new design range.

I've had my flex since 2014 or so. It's old! It seems to need charging more often and then won't sync. But as long as it is charged, it records the data. Then I try the paper clip thing.....doesn't work, then once in a while it does and all the info is there on my dashboard. I too like the simple look and don't want to give up on it. I can't get it to pair with my WW app. think it is too old.

pretty frustrating. if they updated their app, and it no longer supports their devices, they should work to fix that. customer service just told me they recommended i buy a dongle  -which @needles4ewe said doesn't work anyway -- and they also told me i have to contact apple. i don't think so -- this isn't an apple issue. this is a fitbit issue.

Well, after posting the other night, I was about to give up on my flex. I
did as someone mentioned and gave the dongle a good hard reset 3 times.
Nothing happened but the next day, all my data from the last 5 days was
there. So apparently the battery part still keeps recording. There is still
life in the old gal yet after so many years.

Was seeing exactly all of the same issues and tried all of the same fixes. Never had a problem in 4 years. First it started draining charge rapidly, couldn't last a day. After last update charge held but my Flex 2 could only sync once after a week then nothing I did could get it to sync again for a week and a half. Phone/bluetooth on/off, reset dongle x3, uninstall and reinstall app. Removed device, but then could not get phone or app to connect again.

Thought all was lost, but downloaded app to laptop, and after taking forever to connect, it finally did! Recovered my week and a half off data. After a while it seems to have paired back to my phone app on its own and steps outside are linked to my Pixel again? I am confused, but it seems to work for today at leaat. Unfortunately don't know what combo exactly got it to work.

Apparently these devices are smarter than we are and have a mind of their
own. At least we are not alone in this.
i will hang on to my old first gen flex as long as i can

I just deleted my flex off the app and then re-installed it. Lost all data since last synch but that worked.

Peeps— I finally fixed my situation. All I needed to do was “re-set” my
Fitbit by pushing on the button that I didn’t know about. I’m not sure why
the tech I spent an hour wish never suggested this- or any of the online
troubleshooting docs. Try it and see if it works for you! --

Do you mean resetting by putting the paper clip in the small hole on the
charging device?

My charger has a small square on the back side - I was able to press and
hold with my finger. Here’s the instructions from a friend that I followed:
How To Reset Fitbit Flex 2
1) Remove your Flex 2 from the wristband and plug it into the charging
cable. (My friend plugs into his computer- I can’t remember if I did that
or just into a regular outlet)
2) Locate the button on the charging cable. Press it three times within
five seconds.
3) When all the lights on your tracker flash at the same time, your Fitbit
Flex 2 has restarted.

This worked for me once on the past month. But my Flex stopped syncing a couple of weeks later. Deleted from the app. Now it won't pair up! I don't want to give up and will keep searching.

I also deleted my app just to see if that would help. Maybe try both reset
app reinstall?--

I am having the same issue this week. I spoke to some friends of mine who don't have a flex 2 but higher models and their having the same trouble. I wonder if it has to do with the google merger. My inspire just died and waiting for new one under warranty and thought I'd try using my old unit but it won't sync today after working just fine for a week. I have tried the same as you, from resetting the fitbit, uninstalling the software on  my phone and re-installing, unlinked my fitbit and reset it up on the software. Nothing helps.
