How long does the average Flex last?

Hey Guys!

Does anyone know on average how long the flex is supposed to last?  I really like the style because it is light weight but I am not getting the mileage out of it that I expect. My friend had one and she said it just suddenly stopped working. I have to say that the company Fitbit has been good about my issue along the way, but I don't know why it keeps happening.

Mine lasted about 2 years, almost 3 years.

Hello DQD,

Did it just stop charging? Both of mine malfunctioned in different ways. Do you know if different models last longer?

My first one croaked after less than a year, but Fitbit replaced it for free. My second one is going on 2 years. I have noticed that i have to charge a bit more frequently so i may be coming to an end with my flex.

Mine just malfunctioned and stopped holding a charge.  It would buzz 30+ times an hour and then die.  That included restarts, but they would only hold off the buzzing for about an hour.

Neither of my other models have died yet (an Alta HR which is about a year old and an Ionic which is about 7 months old).

I have had my Flex since 2014. I really like it but seems not sync very well anymore 😞  I do not know which one would compare to this one.  I swim so need a water proof and I don't like the big bulky kind

Yes, I am with you...I like the flex because I am always moving, too!  You're lucky to have achieved a few years out of yours.

I’ve had my original FlexFitbit since 2014... still working; although in the last couple of days it switched into a mode ( 2 dots moving side to side with a occasional vibrate) and I cs’t figure out how to stop it.  Otherwise works great; still love it

Double double click until you get all the dots again that will get rid of the two dots

Hello everyone, I hope you're doing well. It's nice to see you around @DramaQueenDiva, thanks for your insight about this situation. Smiley Happy

We really appreciate our members's input and feedback and I would like to thank you for yours. Our team is always looking to improve the Fitbit experience and I appreciate you have shared your experience with us. Keep in mind that every Fitbit tracker comes a limited product warranty and in case you have inquiries or doubts about what it covers, you can check it on this article: Return Policy & Warranty.

Now, if you're looking for a device like the Flex my best recommendation is the Flex 2, it has a similar design to the Flex and it includes more features. Additionally, this device is water-resistant and can be used when swimming.

@Cruzrchick, as @wholio mentioned, tap continuously for 2 seconds on the Flex to stop the activity mode in which your Flex is right now.

I hope this can be helpful, if there's anything else I can do for you, please feel free to reply.

Mine stopped working 2 days ago.  I am still working on fixing it-seems like a software problem.  I bought in Dec 2015 so it has lasted 4.5 years...I love it

Original Fitbit Flex lasted 4+ yrs. Now my Fitbit Flex2 is going on 2+ yrs. Didn’t need a bunch of gadgets... Only steps ... which is why I went with Flex2. Still love it.

Mine lasted 2 years, but my Alta HR (which I got the day my Flex died) has been going strong since 2016.
