Missing steps from challenge

Missing roughly 4000 steps.  The steps show in my dashboard but when I add my 2 day totals it does not match my challenge total.  I did not manually add steps or activities. I have tried to reset the fibit.

It's nice to see you around the forums @VickiiGin! Hmmm... this is very strange. Below are possible reasons for this issue:

1. Your steps have fully synced to our database but you're not viewing the mobile app dashboard in Live Data Mode. (Live data mode would show the word "connected" under your tracker tile).
2. You used MobileRun to track GPS data with your app. Only steps recorded by a tracker or MobileTrack are counted toward challenges.

3. All challenge participants are not in the same time zone.

I also recommend waiting 15 minutes after syncing your Fitbit data to see if your challenge updates.

If that doesn't change, try the following:

  • Make sure that your Fitbit app is up-to-date
  • Log out of your Fitbit app
  • Force quit the app
  • Turn off the Bluetooth
  • Shut off your phone and turn it on after 1-2 minutes
  • Turn on the Bluetooth
  • Log back into your Fitbit app

I'll be around, keep me posted!

I attempted your tricks.  I'm down almost 3k in steps.  Its weird, because its in general taking my steps, but its like a certain time period didn't sync over to community challenge, I can walk and additional steps are added.  But still missing those 3k steps.

Welcome to the Forums @busyjesiThank you for reporting that your Challenge leaderboard steps don't match your dashboard steps.

We've received similar reports, and have escalated the issue to our engineering team. While we don't have a timeline for resolution, we will continue to investigate these discrepancies. We are really sorry for the inconvenience, and we hope to get you back on track soon.

Hi MarreFItbit ... I just got a flex 2 and am wondering what the 'live data' option means exactly. I can't seem to find a description of it anywhere.  How do I know if I need it to be on or off?

Did you ever find a reason for this and/or how to fix it? I was in a weekend warrior challenge this weekend and lost around 10k steps somehow. Same as above, it was synced, new steps were being added - just loads missing. Any ideas?

I did a week challenge and my total is 30k under what I did from my dashboard. All steps are showing on watch and on app. I've only used watch to track and no syncing issues.

I am having the same issue. We're on day 3 of a workweek hustle challenge and I have lost around 19,000 steps so far. My goal day challenges show the correct percentage of steps and my dashboard and watch show the correct steps. The daily showdown, workweek hustle, and custom challenges I am participating in are way off and for every hour I walk I lose more steps. EXTREMELY discouraging!
