No Active Minutes when Swimming

Hi All 🙂

Got my Fitbit Flex 2 a few days ago. The steps are pretty accurate against my Apple Watch so chuffed with that. I did have to turn off auto-recognise for my walks as it was giving me double activity points on Weight Watchers 😞

However I went for a swim last night my Fitbit did recognise the swim and gave me the correct time and lengths swam however it did not give me any active minutes. I did 42 minutes and swam 32 lengths.

Do you think I'm not working hard enough for active minutes or is there a glitch?

Thanks 🙂

Check your activities and select the Swim workout you did.

What does it state on your dashboard?

The below screen shots are based on a quick snorkel I did a few months back.

It says I added 7 active minutes.  Not sure if it's accurate...I was on vacation during this time and didn't pay attention to how much time i was actually swimming.

Hi sara_b, I have the exact same problem. My flex 2 captured my swim with no problem. It even recorded 49 lengths, which isn't bad - I actually did 46. However, it shows no active minutes. Really irritating!

It could be your swim wasnt 'active' enough to gain active minutes which are cal ulated on the intensity of the exercise, not just the exercise done.

Thanks for the reply, NellyG 🙂

Actually, when I resynch'ed again later, the active minutes were recognised. I don't understand why the swim was captured but the active minutes didn't show, initially, but at least it got there in the end.

Have you got a solution to this? I have the same issue.

I did a 55 minutes swim this morning and YES it WAS active!!!! The distance tracked was pretty accurate, but it gave me 0 active minutes! Very frustrating since my daily goal is set to active minutes not to steps.
