When you get your new fitbit go into the "account" section of the app and select "add a device". Choose Flex and it will ask you if you want to replace your existing fitbit. Just say yes and follow the prompts. All your data, settings, badges etc will be retained.

@Margaret820 Welcome to the Fitbit family! Please follow the steps provided by @SteveH. That is how you replace a device without loosing your previous data.

I will leave the replacement set up process here for you to check it out. It will show you the steps to do it on the Fitbit app as well.

Let me know how it goes! Smiley Happy

@Jklue Welcome to the Fitbit family! Yes, the works to transfer data from one model to another one. The difference is that you will need to select the actual model you are setting up on the list of Fitbit trackers.

You will have the new one set up and will be able to continue tracking.

@Margaret820 It's great to see you in the Fitbit Community! I'm glad to hear this worked for you! I'm sure this will help other users as well.

This process did not work for me in transferring from a Charge 2 to a Charge. There was no prompt to "transfer" from one fitbit to another. Is there any way to perform this transfer after the 2 has been removed and the 3 active or have I lost all my previously synced data?

Unfortunately, this doesn't work. My Versa recently died and they shipped me another Versa (identical model). Although I did choose the option to replace my existing Fitbit, after the process completed successfully, the new Fitbit had factory default settings for clock face, my apps were all gone and the wallet was empty.

@ChaosFreak unfortunately that's what I would expect. All your tracking data is held on the fitbit servers rather than on the tracker so that is safe when swapping fitbits but any settings for the fitbit and any data stored on the fitbit cannot be copied across when replacing a fitbit.

Just upgraded to the Vera 2 and my old Versa has more steps than the new one. How do I transfer the steps?
