2,019 Miles in 2019

ANSWERED

Hello all!  The New Year is upon us very soon!  How fun would it be to walk/run/move 2,019 miles in the year 2019?!

2,019 miles =

5.53 miles per day

38.82 miles per week

168.25 miles per month

For me, if I walk 5.5 miles, it's around 13K steps.  Running is a bit less, around 10,500 steps.

Let's use this thread to track our mileage and smash our goals!  Happy New Year!

Since the web-based dashboards have been decommissioned by Fitbit, I created a group in the Fitbit app.  I'm not sure if you're able to search for custom groups, but if you'd like an invite, you can shoot me a message and I'll send you a friend request so then I can invite you.

@checking Yeah, this weekend I hit 23K steps.  It consisted of a 4 mile run, tons of walking around a casino, and lots of moving during a concert.  It was over 10 miles and I was completely exhausted when my head hit the pillow!  Felt great though!

I definitely should have some training days that will get me in that range as I gear up for the half!  I'd really like to do 20K tomorrow since I'll have the day off and it'll give me a little head start for for the mileage!  🙂

We had terrible ice and snow come through yesterday and today, so it really slowed me down.  I was hoping to have a really strong first week, but it looks like we're going to get really nice weather this weekend and next week so I'll have to catch up then.

Great job so far guys!

I'm at 18.98 miles so far including today. Been getting at least 5.53 miles every day so far except for Wednesday, but I'll be doing a weekend warrior challenge this weekend and I'm planning on hitting the gym after work so I should be able to get ahead of where I need to be for this.

Just joined the challenge, so a few days behind - new fitbit activated yesterday, so I'll be making up for lost time. Managed 8 miles today, but that's unusual for me.

Thanks for setting this up!

So I’ve been meaning for post for ages but keep remembering I need to at the most inconvenient of times! My next post will involve more of a breakdown of fats etc. But as of last night I’m up to 72.47 miles so pretty much on track.

Am starting to gradually up my running & training so hopefully will help.

Well done all, everyone seems to be doing ace so far! 🙌

@YojanaFitbit - can you please add this to the sticky at the top of the Get Moving board so it's easier for everyone to find?  Thanks!

Well, I got hit with the flu bad yesterday, which killed my over 10K steps streak, ending it at 59 days.  😞  Luckily, I'm still ahead of the 2,019 miles in 2019.

As of 1/17/17: 103.98 miles -- average of 6.11 miles per day, ahead of the 5.53 miles per day needed.

EDIT: OK, I got the answer as to why there is a difference in miles shown in the log vs. leader board.

Leader board # is rounded down to just the integer part of the #,  i.e. 5.87 gets logged as 5 for the group activity.

As of this morning (1/24):

606,885 steps 287.41 miles

Averaging ~ 12.5 miles/day

I've noticed that the # of miles listed in my activity log and what shows up on the group leader board are different. Log = 287.41, Leader board = 274 and I logged 15.23 yesterday so it's not a day behind.

Steps match exactly though.

Keep Steppin!

Wow @GSaldiveri that's a lot of steps!  Great work!

As of January 24th: 142.59 miles which averages out to 5.94 miles per day, slightly ahead of the 5.53 miles per day needed.

Finally feeling better after that flu knocked me out last week.  Had some low step days where I definitely did not hit 5.53 miles.  But luckily I was ahead, so that helped.

I hope to stay ahead, as next Thursday I have a long day full of flying.  Luckily I have lots of stops in airports, so maybe I can get all my steps in walking around airports that day.

So as at 25/1 I'm at 137.18 miles, averaging out at 5.49 miles a day. That leaves me only just below the daily target which I'm not too concerned about at moment as have had a few days of being poorly. Shouldn't be too difficult over the next couple of weeks to pull back ahead and build in a little buffer as I'm starting to get back into regular running (although distances are pretty short at the moment).

It all helps right?

Well done everyone - keep on going!

I am well below the average of everyone posting in this thread. I missed a couple of days but I'm still at it. Please note that I am recording my distance done on the treadmill and not throughout the day. Also, I apologize that the units are in kilometers since most people posting are using miles.
