So I'm about to switch to morning workouts since I have not been very constant with staying at gym after work (I end up going out, there is a concert I want to go to, get in some extra hours at work, simply tired and want to go home) . I ended up wondering, is there an ideal time to get your exercise done? I have been listening to different opinions on this and I wanted to hear what the Fitbit Community thinks as well.
Here is a little extra info from webMD I found interesting.
What is your input on this?

The earlier the better for me. I go on tuesday's at 8:30am but thursday's at 3pm to the gym.

@Paradise555 Awesome, Thank you for the input.
I guess it all comes down to each person's schedule in the end.
I'll try on mornings for now see how it goes!

I find that I am a morning workout person. I used to do 530am M-F, but my current schedule doesn't allow that, and I really find myself struggling to make it to the gym most days after a long day at work. Plus there's errands, picking up kids, appointments, etc to contend with. So for me, the earlier the better, for sure!

I tend to be a morning person but my current schedule only allows for afternoon workouts. I do just fine with that as long as my wife is with me. I like having her to work out with and it's qulaity time for the both of us away from the kids.

Hey @SunsetRunner, morning workouts give me energy for all the day, the bad thing is that recently I don't have time for that! Hope to get back in shape soon!
See you around!

Thank you all for you inputs.
It really helps to have different points of view to motivate myself.
@jamrow38 I think like you having someone to workout with really helps with the motivation. Here's hoping I find someone to motivate me too.

I like to workout at the end of my workday. It helps me decompress from the day and relax. I work from home so it's easy for me to end my day, change and go for a run. But, since it is starting to get darker sooner I'm going to have to start getting up earlier and running then.

I think it depends on your schedule. For years I worked 5:45am to 2:30pm, so working out before work was out of the question. I would come home - and on the rare occasions I did work out - and I found that 3:30-4:30pm was my sweet spot. If I worked at 8am I would find it very easy to work out before work.

It depends.
During the week, there's no way I'm getting up another hour early when I already have the alarm set for 5am, especially when my boyfriend sometimes works until 11:00 at night or later. So I head straight to the gym after work.
But on the weekends, I almost always go for a run as soon as I wake up, and that's still around 5am or 6am. I come back from my run, take a breather, hop in the shower - and I have the whole rest of the day to do whatever I want.

Oh man @SunsetRunner, I am a night owl. I prefer to exercise at night after work. I'm not that tired and I can spend the last of energy I have to workout a little bit. Then just take a shower, eat something and sleep (sleep like a baby). Now if it is on a day off, an early run is just alright, for instance.

@lusry I definitely agree with you, that is what I liked of going to the gym after work, but it affected how often I went as after work is when I usually go out, given that I get out at 9 PM it's either/or, as @iMike said it depends a lot on when you can have a time slot that you can dedicate to your workout.
@Raviv The week-end morning workout is definitely sounding good for the free days.

I work out at 6 am and it totally sets my mood for the day ahead. It boosts your metabolism to start in the morning, so I say go for it! Just give yourself time to shower before work, but other than that, the earlier the better!

@schmidtcourt I agree the shower is a must if you're headed to work afterwards.
I surely don't want my coworkers hating me! Boosting my metabolism sure sounds nice, I just hope it doesn't make me eat much more than I already do. I'm already at 4-5 meals a day!

Hahaha, yes that is a must if heading to work @SunsetRunner. I do feel that is better to go in the mornings, but everyone adjusts the gym time to their schedules. As long as you go in a time that allows you to be constant and enough time to do everything you need to do to achieve your goals.

Night owl sir. I like to do everything at night because it's the time when my mind is more clear.
My mornings are always very slooow.

@EdsonFitbit I know what you are talking about! I have my slow mornings as well. More and more lately and that is why I also want to get my Gym in in the mornings, you know, to do something!

I get up at 4:30 to got to work as it is so adding a work out in the morning is not really a good idea. I generally go on my way home from work. I finish at 14:15 so have plenty of time to kill.
