Fitbit on Pixel watch adding steps when sitting on a moving subway

ANSWERED
My watch is adding steps while I'm riding the subway...apparently the bounce of the subway is causing this.  I can view the step counter tick off more steps as I am sitting.  The additional number of steps is. not insignificant.  About 300 to 500  additional steps for a 20 minute subway ride.

Accepted Solutions

I've only just started using Fitbit again after a couple years hiatus, so this may have a better fix, but, historically, the solution is to log an "inactive" workout during your commute. (This may be more convenient for you on a subway than it was for me in my car.) Back when I was doing this, it was also an easy way to knock out all of your weekly fitness goals by sitting.
