Hi all! I am starting this thread to help all the ladies from our old forum get started up again over here in the new place. Hope you all find this thread. Getting in shape after 60 has its own challenges especially when you have lost muscle, have slowed metabolism and hormone changes. How are you getting and staying fit? What s working for you?
Hello
It's very good to make that. For your knee, you must try with a kinésithérapeute with the méthode Dr Busquet. It's a very good méthode. All the body is taked charged.
Have a good day.
Best AnswerI am new to this disussion and to using my FitBit....Just since Feb. 26. I'm over 60, a woman, and have dealt with fibromyalgia since 1991. Any tips/tricks/etc to meeting one's goals when you're in flare-up?
Marilee, you should come and join our group. The name is 'Women over 60' it is a very active group with lots of info.
Best AnswerI loved the Fitbit Force but, unfortunately, I was one of the people who developed a rash and sent it back to Fitbit. They refunded my purchase quite promptly and stayed in touch with me the entire time. I am thinking of getting the Flex. How is it different from the Force? In the meantime, my One is doing a good job of reminding me to move. I'm a Realtor so I'm sitting in front of my computer much of the time searching for properties for my clients. Moving is vital! That and a balanced diet keep me at a weight I'm not thrilled about but not out of control. Losing the 20 to 30 pounds that would make me "slim" is the challenge. I'm sure I'm not alone.
Best AnswerThanks! I am looking forward to it!

Best AnswerWonderful to see a topic for women our age. New to fitbit and desperately needing to get in shape. Bought Flex a week ago, and trying to walk more daily and log everything I eat. Wish I could get in firmer shape and loose the tummy that seems to have grown "overnight" between ages 56 and 58... Would prefer to lose 15-20 lbs, get firmer, and most of all, gain more energy.
Best Answerwhat an inspiration - i was just over 200 and totally frustrated because it seemed impossible to lose - I received my fitbit for christmas and at first, I have to admit, it was an effort to reach 10,000 steps and somedays it still is - but yesterday I got over 20,000 and was so excited (and tired) some days I am traveling so it is an effort to get 10,000 steps in, but until I feel the vibration in my bracklet I just keep walking - it is like my personnel goal to get the minimum of 10,000 steps - loved reading your comments and they inspire me to keep going (haven't lost much weight but anything is better than nothing)
wow glad to know there are more of 'me' ...over 60 (actually 65) and trying to lose weight and get fit. I have been going to aquafit for past month, managed to lose 5 lbs....with at leat 40 to go...I find the aquafit really fun which surprises the heck out of me...haven't owned a bathing suit for over 20 years...now miss the class when I can't go. I still work full time - shift work which adds to the dilemma of trying to lose weight....just bought my fitbit so hoping it will be an incentive to keep moving.
I have fibro, am 65 and have an artifical knee.....surprisingly I have found aquafit works really well for me...in the shallow water which is generally warm...not hot but its a good work out without any pressure on joints etc....I love it
exactly - it seems like I am going nowhere, clothes feel better and I do feel so good and it is just 'one step at a time' and remember - TODAY is the first day of the rest of your life - any the "fitbit friends" are sooooooo encouraging that a cheer makes you want to walk a little more
Best AnswerHi All, I am new to Fitbit and just starting the long journey of losing over 100 pounds. I'm sitting on the divide between pre-diabetes and diabetes. So ... with that as my motivation (and it really has motivated me), I'm interested in what forms of exercise work best for you. I've lost 8 pounds so far - by changing my food intake, but getting moving is what I'm pondering now. I'd love your input! Rebecca
Best AnswerHi Prairiegirl. You go girl. I enjoy the outdoors and exploring places as well as gardening. Every year I seem to be in too much of a hurry to garden. I still have to wait, but summer is coming soon.
