Started Jump Roping

I decided to mix in some rope jumping in with my weight training and running. The first challenge is learning the bounce step.

If you'd like to watch the short video it's here. Does anyone know how to embed videos in a post?

I saw this post a couple of weeks ago, and went out and got a jumprope.  I've been jumping every day since.  I'm always looking for good exercises that I can do at home.  Thanks for sharing.  🙂

Hi TurquoiseTurtle,

For some reason jumping rope resonated with me for lots of reasons...I can do it in my home, it is a complete body workout, the rope is easily packed for travel for starters.  During TV commercials I jump off the sofa and pick up my jump rope. When I get bored or feel like nibbling I pick up the rope and jump at least 50-100 times.  Don't overdue it is my best advice I can give you.  There are wonderful Youtube videos online to watch, too.  Look for videos on "Louis Garcia, jumprope youtube."  Keep up the good work.

Hi,

I'm new to jump roping and am watching lots of Youtube videos.  The double unders are awsome but will be way down the road for me.  I am still trying to master the criss-cross.  It's all timing.  Some days I have it, some not so much.  Frustrating for sure...but I'm tenacious.
