Mark, I'm glad that someone doesn't hate the new version.

Best Answer

I'm sorry but it's awful! There have been updates before that I have got used to but this is absolutely No No No! The size of it? Why? It looks like something aimed at primary school children. Embarrassed now to open it in public. You can't see the stats you want at a glance without scrolling through. My main focus was workout stats and map info for heart rate, speed, cardio etc. This is no longer shown on the map as at a glance colour coded info but in a tedious meaningless list that is hard to find. In fact the workout stat is not easily seen as it is the only one shown as a tiny print bar amongst the nonsense large font bars. The colour is bland and therefore can no longer instantly understand targets and

achievements. As others have mentioned, basic info like battery charge.....  Do the people updating the app even use or trial it? At least give the option to return to the previous style. Or another corrective update is required based on the repeated complaints

Best Answer

I totally agree. But it will not happen. Looking to purchase another brand at this very moment.

Best Answer

I actually think the latest update is OK 🙂 I really like that I can customize the "Todays" dashboard, but I had to figure it out by clicking through some menues.
Perhaps you just need to be better at informing why the new update is good and how we can make the best of it.

Still trying to figure out where I can check the battery level in the app though

Best Answer

Perhaps someone on the boards can help Fitbit/Google with language apologizing to us for this downgrade of an app and heralding the return of the previous  version. So they “save face,” of course. Maybe that’s what they’re waiting for — a good out.

Best Answer

I absolutely, dislike the new version

But to answer your question, if you click the icon in the top left corner of the app, it will show the device you have connected and a pic of the battery level.

I came up with a perfect solution to all my Fitbit problems. I bought a
Garmin Instinct 2X Solar. It has all the features of the FitBit Products I
have used for 7 years. It has more features, is more accurate and rarely
needs charging because it is Solar powered.

You have to click the upper left top .  Then click on your device .  It will tell you your battery level but it doesn’t give you a percentage it just says battery level : full or medium or ……

The Fitbit does not correctly count laps when I am swimming. (I don't do flip turns, so I guess my Fitbit can't deal with that.) As a result, it mis-records the distance I've swum. I've always been able to edit my exercise details to correct the distance. Not anymore. Please reinstate the activity edit feature or tell me how to access it if it's still a feature.

This is a terrible 'update!' Nothing is easier or improved. I've been with fitbit since I first started tracking and guess what I'll be asking for for Christmas....a Garmin!

Hate the update. Blech.  Smell ya later, fitbit!

I understand it but really don't like the active zone colours as they are hard to distinguish due to lack of contrast e.g. between moderate and vigorous. Also graph is really small (even with my glasses!) Much preferred the old circle design with bolder, more easily defined colours.

for battery, click on the icon on the top left corner, then click on your Fitbit.

there is a Low, medium, full indicator beside the fitbit.
Currently, it does say that it’s fully charged when it isn’t.

we really do need Fitbit to put back the proper battery status on the main menu.

With the update, which I think is generally childish and clunky looking, I no longer get any reading on hourly activity. - 0 of  0 is all I have ever seen.

Wouldn't it be great if Fitbit would respond to ANY of the concerns and complaints of their customers??? Since the first post stating how "thrilled" they were to announce the new, downgraded, substandard app redesign, we've only heard crickets. The silence only highlights how little they care for their customer base. It's honestly shameful.

Same but I am waiting for the Holiday sales when I am more than sure Garmin will be happy to make me an offer I can't refuse. Paying for premium that has none of the perks it had when I signed up is not ok. If they want to drive fitbit into the ground I am happy to make their day and leave.

I have the same issue with battery monitor. They % of battery should be the norm like it was before

I waited patiently.  I got it.  To say I am disappointed is an understatement.

I am not one that is adverse to change.  I even get that Google wants the app in the "Material" design to align with the rest of their products.

What I don't understand is spending a year stripping away features from users under the guise of, "so we can focus on the new experience" and the end result not only failing to bring those features back, but not even coming out with a fully baked app.  I mean, every other product has a "dark mode" how was that not completed before this rolled out?

You took away even more features like the step streak.  Really?  Was one extra database field going to kill you?  You buried things in oddball menu system that relates to... nothing.  It isn't fitbit, it isn't standard, it isn't a typical hamburger menu, it is a wacky game of find the settings menu you want.

Perhaps Google shouldn't have let go of so many people earlier this year and kept some UX people around.  When Google started screwing around with the watch itself, I almost understood, they were looking to push people to their more profitable "Pixel Watch", but this I don't understand.  Are the people that wrote Google Fit no longer with the company?  They knew a thing or two about design, and much of that could have been built in here as well (Hell, at this point, why are you even keeping Google Fit?).  This is the same poor UX you are going to give to people that are willing to pay for a watch that won't even last a full 24 hours?

The update is HORRIBLE. I am not able to set what I want to see. I want to see my steps , my sleep and my calories.... there is no available tile with " MY choices" I can't even see my steps for last coup weeks without going in and out bunch of pages. I used to be able to see days and compare my steps now I can't see more than judge one week. I do have a bad vision and a lot of times I complain that it's hard to read . But in this update it's really ridiculously huge. Why all the flexibility of what I want to set up or see is taking away? I am extremely upset with this update to the point that will consider cancelling fitbit at all.

Cool thanks, I had been wondering the same but never thought to swipe left and I didn't see it mentioned in any of the pre release info.
