Stroller walks when the weathers nice. Does he like music? I've got two year old twins and if I turn something on they love to get up and dance around our living room, I always get plenty of steps in that way. 🙂

Have you looked into seeing if your gym offers child care? I know some gyms do free child care with memberships, and if there's other peoples children there I'm sure he'd love some play time while you got your steps in.

Join a Park Run near you, people can run with dogs, prams etc. Its a good & fun 5K. I went today, didn't do very well but it was the first one of the New Year!

I work at a preschool and my thought is that block play is GREAT and you should be so happy that he likes stories but you can instigate other types of play too. Put on an upbeat CD and move around with him. Give him sheer scarves and wrist ribbons to keep him interested. You don't have to outright dance if your mobility doesn't allow, but move around with him. Toddlers will do this for 30 minutes and I notice I take a lot of steps when I do with them.
