What's the one song that motivates you?

I have that one song. You have that one song. We all have that one song. Some people have more than one song (that's okay!). What is the one song that gets you fired up?

For me, if I'm diggin' some alternative, it's Sleigh Bells' "Infinity Guitars." If I need to hear some nice hip-hop to get my workout going, my go-to is Kanye West's "Power."  If I need some EDM in my life, I go with this amended version of Lana Del Ray's "Summertime Sadness." As far as song in movies go, John William's composition of "Battle of the Heroes" does it for me!

As a bonus, my good friend @GraceFitbit reminded me how good the year 2005 was, and went with Beyoncé's Crazy In Love .

Above all else, there is the one song that gets me ready to work hard and reach for the improbable. It is one of the most popular songs in the history of the world, and universally one of the most motivating. I am speaking, of course of Ludwig Van Beethoven's "5th Symphony in C Minor."

Now that you have an idea of what songs get our blood ready to flow and our hearts ready to race, we have to know- what song motivates you?

Oddly enough (or not) I have found that when I walk inside my place here Vivaldi's "Gloria" inspres and enervates me.  I don't know how I came to this conclusion but I alway have it on.  All the way through, then going back to play just the rousing first part gets me almost a half mile of walking.  Put that in YouTube and see you you don't agree.

For one short piece it would be Credence's "Lookin' Out My Back Door".

Don't laugh, but "What Does the Fox Say" By Ylvis is my perfect walk-run song. It's the first one on my playlist for Zombies Run 5k (a couch to 5k app).

I know I'm weird but my absolute favorite music to run to is Mozart's Requiem in D Minor. I don't know how I stumbled on this, but it motivates me more than any rock or pop song I've tried. Smiley Happy

Wow, if I listed all the songs that motivate me, I would never end! Smiley Very Happy

But I think I can pick a couple, which could be "Blood, Sweat & Tears" by BTS, "Powerlines" by Lindsey Stirling, "Taking Off" by ONE OK ROCK and "Greedy" by Ariana Grande.

Those are definitely my favorites currently! They might change in about a month. Cat LOL

Everything is Kung Fu! I have been a Kung Fu practicioner for 11 years now (wow) and while I prefer the older Karate Kid movies I love this scene from the remake. https://youtu.be/vlrC7Ue_VxY

"The Runner," by Manfred Mann's Earth Band ("Out of Afrika" album. Circa 1983). Lyrics can be found at LyricsFreak. It's always been my go-to song for motivation before a race, or whenever I'm feeling a bit burned-out from training. While the video is dated, I think you'll get the idea... 🙂

I also listen to "Blue Collar," by Bachman Turner Overdrive (AKA; "BTO"), during the quiet solitude of early morning runs (e.g.; 3:45 a.m.). It's got a soft, slightly jazzy beat. Helps me to maintain an even, relaxed, and steady pace long before the sun rises.
