I have been asking for an airfryer for 2 years and finally got one for Christmas from my hubby. I just got up the nerve to use it because I honestly thought it worked like a microwave and cooked foods quickly. I bought a book Air Fryer for 2 and am starting out simple. Appetizers and snacks, that sort of thing. Any tips would be greatly appreciated.

I dip in buttermilk and let it drain so it's not dripping.

Hi @Cali13 - nice to see you again! How are you? Good idea on the buttermilk. I’ll have to try it. This is what I am making tonight for dinner with a nice salad. The recipe is from SkinnyTaste.

Sorry, I did not take a picture. But using the egg, the bread crumbs adhered nicely. I learned another trick with this recipe. Previously, I seasoned any crumbs, not the chicken itself. A little bit of Lowrey’s low salt seasoning directly on the chicken made quite a difference. The tenders looked and tasted like “real” chicken tenders from a restaurant ... just not greasy. We really liked them.
Next week I’m air frying fish. I’ll be sure to take a pic of that.

@bbbonbon - did you get your air fryer yet? If yes, what have you made?

Air fried pollock this evening. This is my “go to” recipe for fish. You can season it any way you want.

What do you like to eat? I launched the Philips Airfryer product in GTA. I know my machine inside out.

I put the whole chicken in but depends on the sizes of your machine & the chicken. You need to make sure it fits with extra space for air circulation. You can pretty much use it like an oven.

You can panfry the white fish same way.. make sure you use a nonstick wok. But yes, airfryer is very convenient to use and food does come out crispy and fluffy.

Hi @SunsetRunner - happy to see someone with your expertise here! I like healthy, tasty, low carb meals - fish, chicken, veggies. I’ve had trouble with chicken legs cooking uniformly. Any tips?

I'm not expert at all. The company gave us training & I learn from everyone. In fact, I'm very impressed by everyone in this community and am learning my rope. I just joint 2 days ago and please show me around. Appreciate it.
For chicken legs, I pierce through it before seasonings. Not only this makes seasoning faster, it also makes it easier to cook through. I do that to whole chicken as well as drumsticks & legs. This is great for regular panfrying, oven bake or BBQ on grill because the heat isn't always even. After I sear the outside, I put the lid on to capture the heat inside of cooking chamber. With Airfryer, I had no trouble cooking the entire chicken without piercing it because of the even high heat. I often roasted the entire chicken in the airfryer. It comes out crispy & tender. Just follow the instructions in the airfryer cookbook. It works.
I personally don't use Airfryer a lot, as I do like food cooked under lower heat. All the essential nutrients, including omega 3 oil stays intact. However, i do appreciate the low fat & crispy food airfryer can achieve. This adds more variety to our healthy routine!!
Please share more.. I love what you guys do!! 😻👍

@SunsetRunner Thanks for sharing your experience and tips. Even without an air frier yet I'm getting curios and learning a lot, and with the recipes and pictures shared here I'almost sure I'll jump in the air frier train.
The pics shared by @SunsetRunner helped me a lot into getting one. Everything looks so good! Yummy!
See you around.

Here’s something you may not have thought of ... hard “boiled” eggs in the air fryer. I like my eggs a little mushy so 15 minutes is perfect for me. The recipes tells how long to cook for more traditional “hard boiled” eggs.
