Have hypoglycemia.. I hate having to eat every five minutes. Are there any high protein/carb snacks that will keep me full (and my blood sugar levels higher) longer?
This would help so much!

Quinoa is especially good with wilted spinach or kale and then oven roasted vegetables (of any kind) mixed in. I put almonds pumpkin seeds in there and mix in a special dessing of:
1 tsp lemon juice
1 tsp olive oil
1/2 tsp sirachi sauce
1 tsp vinegar
1/2 tsp of soy sauce
Superb and so healthy.

I have used this recipe for Balls as well:
1 cup dry oatmeal
½ cup chocolate chips
½ cup peanut butter
½ cup ground flaxseed
1/3 cup honey
1 tsp vanilla
I am going to experiment by adding different things as well. Everyone that has tried them has loved them so far. I was told these are 93 calories for a 1 inch ball.

Yes. the P Butter is going to add to the calories. Why I store them in a container in the fridge and just have one along with breakfast of that day. Great source of protein but eating too many at one sitting probably not good unlesss you are burning lots of calories via exercise. I have thought about mixing in some pumpkin puree or mashed up banana in their as well. I just made some more of these this weekend and really enjoy them.

Thanks for the recipe. Sounds yummy. Can you tell me how much measurement is a "scoop". My powder didn't come with one...is it like a tsp or tablespoon or more?
And, what size to cut the squares....for serving. Any idea of calorie and/or protein count?
thanks!

They are saying nuts are a better source of protein for us than meat. My last snack at night is a protein bar to hold me till the next day.

My high protein pick me up is a banana, mushed up with some peanut butter mixed in it. Might even through in some nuts or seeds on top

Here's the recipe. I substitute apple juice for grape juice since I never have this around. I also use an ice cream scooper to shape the balls then just roll them by hand. I make these on weekends and they last the entire week since I only eat one a day usually. Very filling and complement a healthy breakfast.

Try cottage cheese which has lots of protein. 1/4 cup and 1 oz of fruit (grapes, cantaloupe, peach, whatever you love) is a good snack. 1/2 cup would carry you for a longer time yet, at 80 calories.
