I just started FitBit (Saturday my birthday & a gift). The only problem I have been having is "Snacking". I would stand in front of the frigde with the door open looking and rummanging around for a snack. After a couple of days of seeing I wasn't snacking like I should, I decided it was time to make my fridge a Snack Bar!
I gutted it from top to bottom discarding all junk food and crap I didn't need to touch any more when I would get snackish. Behold, now I have a middle shelf "Snack Bar" that I can reach in a help myself to throughout the day! If you're like me, if I have to pause and think about what to prepare, I would just close the door "forget about it".
Now the snack bar is open 24/7 with fresh veggies, cheese, ham, turkey, boiled eggs, bottle water, and fruit!
You Can Do This! Charge ahead into success with FitBit!

@AZMaximus What a great idea! I'd have to add some almonds to the veggie platter, but it sure looks good.
Welcome to the forums and thanks for sharing this with us.

I like it
I have the same problem, being stood in front of the fridge and just wanting something, and something usually being cheese.

That is a great idea @AZMaximus! You just reminded me of Real Simple's Snack Caddy for the fridge and pantry.
I should start setting up my own snack spots at the fridge, thank you for the reminder!

Cheese is not a bad snack depending on how much you eat...protein is good. I eat 3 protein snacks a day and still am able to lose weight. I try to eat lower fat cheese versus regular when I can. Sugar content is worse than the fat. I don't eat anything more than 3 to 5 grams of sugar. Don't throw the cheese away it's good for you; just make sure you don't eat too much.

This looks really cool!
Personally as a university student its very easy to run off to the vendor machine or to get one of the supermarket "meal deals". This isnt the healthyest of options and I try to do better.
Recently I started on sundays to fill 5 resealable plastic bags (found on Ikea) with vegetables. I chop them into fingers or what you want to call it, some cucumber, carrot and lettuce. I have also tried fruitsalad now and then, this is a bit harder as it quickly goes brown and looks sad. But its a good option for an easy snack to have with you in the bag for the day!

Thank you for your ideas and life hacks! One of your comments has a life hack on how to keep your snacks in order. I'll try this option too, thank you. I think that our children will appreciate these boxes of snacks. This will allow us to keep the fridge clean. Before that, I couldn't achieve such cleanliness in the fridge that I wasn't ashamed to send you a photo. But I wanted to share a little discovery with you. Our relatives from all over the world come to us for big holidays. So here https://ianboer.com.au we found a mini-fridge for beverages because our fridge is always full of food. Now I don't understand how we lived without it before.

I know @Saturnio and @KiraNightly, time goes by really fast, but I'm glad you revived this great topic!
So many great suggestions here, I'll make sure to take notes for when I go to buy my groceries in a few days.
Feel free to share any recommendations for healthy snacks! 😁
