I love green smoothies!! I make one almost everyday in my Magic Bullet. Here is my "base" recipe:
Fill bullet cup about 1/3 way with liquid of your choice. (I use unsweetend almond milk or coconut water)
Stuff in about 2 cup of "greens". (I use baby spinach or baby kale)
Blend that till it is a green liquid.
Add 1/2 frozen banana, and your choice of other frozen fruits. (I use frozen: mango chunks, pineapple chunks, berries, peaches...etc)
You may need to add a touch more liquid.
Blend well. (sometimes you have to stop and shake the container and then start blending again)
Enjoy!!
Tips: I buy the big tub of organic baby spinach at Costco, bring it home and put the whole thing directly into my freezer! That way it never goes bad before I finish it!!
ps. I have a ton of recipes that I would be happy to send you if you like. Send me a private message with your email and I will send you them!

I had no idea that you could freeze the greens!!! I'm so glad to have gained this tip, thank you! I like to make green smoothies in my vitamixer, alternating with baby kale and spinach. This tip will save the other kind of greens, wonderful!

I read that you need switch out the greens for your smoothies because greens produce a toxic substance to keep bugs away. If you eat the same greens every day, you can become toxic from the greens. I try to switch out spinich and kale and also use mixed greens. My favorite smoothie recipe that I have daily is:
1/2 banana
1cup frozen organic blueberries from Costco
1 peeled orange
handful or two of greens
1/2 cup of water
1 T. chia seeds and 1T. Hemp seeds for Omega 3s and protein

I love my smoothies in the morning!
I do...
2 handfuls of spinach
1 frozen banana
about 1/2 cup of mango
1 cup of unsweetened almond milk (sometimes I just use water)
1tbsp of almond butter
That's it!
Here is a helpful 'cheat sheet' I found http://www.pinterest.com/pin/182325484887527105/ on how to make your own smoothies.
Hope this helps!

Thanks for the tip on freezing greens.
I change up my smoothies every few days but this is a sample of what I do.
2 cups water, coconut water, or almond milk
2 cups baby spinach or organic super greens
1 carrot
1 stalk of celery
1 cup mango, pineapple or other fruits.
1 scoop of whey powder
Sometimes I add 1/2 avocado and leave out the whey. I keep bags of frozen fruit on hand at all times
and just add what I have.

I love fruit smoothies made in my Health Master emulsifier!
After trial and error, I've discovered a little coconut water added makes for a great tasting and even healthier,
smoothie!
Frozen fruit makes a swell hot weather drink.

Mine:
Easy - Peasy
1/2 cup milk, 2%
1 scoop whey protein powder
1/2 banana
fill the rest of the bullet with fresh or frozen fruit of choice
variation:
replace portion of the fruit with cucumber for a lower carb / sugar option
I find that putting my milk in first, and then adding the protein powder makes the "mixing " process go better. I like my smoothies to be the consistency of ice cream or a milk shake.

I do the same exact thing. Love green smoothies. I just started the 30 day green smoothie challenge 2 days ago. Simplegreensmoothies.com is where I got the challenge. I have a vitamix and just got a yonanas. So I'm so ready and excited to get back to having fruits and veggies now that the holidays are over.

Just had this: 2 room-temp bananas, 4 frozen strawberries, 1 tbsp cocoa, a few drops of vanilla, 1 cup ice in the Vitamix, oh yum!
In the yonanas machine I like to put in 1/2 banan, 2 strawberry, 1/2 banana, 2 strawberry...
if you alternate things it makes them easier to mix in your bowl

I have a Vitamix and Yonanas too.
I like to add spinach and almond milk to the fruits in the vitamix for a green smoothie. I like how you added cocoa and vanilla. I'll have to try that.

I like adding spinach, but tried Kale today and it didn't taste so good. I guess I could have added too much, but was hoping that it would act like spinach and not taste it.

I used regular kale and probably way too much. It was at least a week old so it could have started to go bad, but looked okay.
I just bought some organic baby kale. Will try it tomorrow. I read that it's best to alternate greens.

I came across a cool product called. PB2 which is "dry" no fat peanut butter. 2 tablespoons have 45 calories(as opposed to 200 in peanut butter) I made a smoothie this morning with a scoop of Super Greens, a banana, skim milk and 1 tablespoon PB2. It was delicious! I would drink it without being on a diet!
