Calorie deficit not working

I’ve been tracking calories using the Fitbit app and had a set up of a 500 calorie deficit per day which was helpful. This feature no longer works - it was working fine until today. It will only default to a fixed calorie goal. Any ideas how to fix it please?

Still doesn’t work

Mine still not working. Calories left is still fixed and not dynamic as it used to be. Yes, you can change it but it’s useless to me without the dynamic bit!

David, judging by the comments it is still not working for most of us. Any updates from the technicians - do they think it’s fixed? Or are they still working on it?

Calorie deficit still won’t stay when changed, still reverts back to setting your own calories.

Those of you who now have the daily calorie deficit working can you tell us if you’re premium members or not?   Mine still isn’t working.

Mine started working again yesterday and I am NOT a premium member.

Well, spond64 that's good to hear, however, I don't know why but mine is still not working. I can set the deficit target to -500 Calories per day in the Nutrition and Weight settings, but as soon as I return to the App's Food section it momentarily shows the "calories left for the day" but then flips back to the static mode of  allowable calories per day.

I just completed a 32 minute phone call with Fitbit support and spoke to an agent who was friendly and professional who informed me that Fitbit has been receiving numerous calls relating to the dynamic calorie deficit feature not being functional. He went on to say that in addition to being aware of the problem,  the development department was working on issuing a patch that would fix this. Unfortunately the agent did not have visibility into how soon that might happen, and I suggested that it would be helpful if the moderator of this forum would provide the Community with this update

TL;DR.  The good news is that Fitbit is well aware of the issue, and is working on a patch to fix it. The bad news is that there is no line-of-sight as to when that patch would be available.

Thanks for the update. My app is doing the same as yours, showing for a second and reverting. Hoping the patch will fix it. Strange that it’s working for some but not others.

As of March 21 at 9:00pm, CST, MY Charge 6 is still not working properly with Calorie Deficit tracking. When you select the calorie deficit and go back to the tracker, it reverts to the set daily target.

I thought mine started working 2 days ago (the dynamic calorie deficit feature) but appears that it’s only working for 250 kcal deficit and not 500 as I thought I’ve set it. Today I realized that it reverts back to 250 no matter how many times I try to set a different value. (I need 500 but other values don’t stick either) So still not fixed, I assume

Mine doesn’t even work with 250 kcal deficit.  It is so frustrating that one of the world’s biggest tech companies can’t fix this.
