I've got the same issues. If someone could post the steps to roll back to a working version of the app (4.27), that would be great. 4.28.2 doesn't work on either of my Android devices.
I managed to install v27 from A...mirror and my tracker is now syncing again. I have switched off autoupdates. Don't know why fitbit can't provide a rollback to v27. Surely they have backups?
Best AnswerFitbit won't provide a rollback to v27 as it's only affecting a subset of mobile devices. I have downloaded v27 from a mirror site and now got mine working. Be cautious about doing this unless you are sure you know what you are doing.
Best AnswerThanks Irish6612. If it doesn’t work I'm going to try to get my money back. The standard of free step apps has much improved since I last looked.

Best AnswerMay I ask what mobile devices are being affected? I have a Samsung Android OS 12 if that helps. I do not have an I phone. My app was updated this morning but I have not yet tried to sync my fitbit and re-setup my device. I did not look to see which version of Fitbit was installed but other posts here indicate that v28.2 still does not fix the problem. Thanks!

Best AnswerI just downloaded and installed 4.28.3. Once it was installed, I opened the app. My steps (about half of them) for today updated almost immediately. I pulled down from the "today" screen, and it seemed to take forever. I thought it was failing and walked away from my phone, busy with something else. I came back and tried again. It worked! I didn't have to uninstall and reinstall, or reboot, or anything. I hope you all have the same happy result!
When you get it, install 4.28.3. Mine works now.
