Is Inspire 3 waterproof?

Just received my Inspire 3 and I’m confused concerning water. I saw a page that said I need to hang it up to dry out after swimming or shower . Saw another page that said something about “ water lock”. I can’t find a symbol that looks like water. What does locking it do? Can I shower with it on?

Hi @Nannylori53  the user manual, page 51 says it is water resistant. Info on water lock is on page 19. click to go to the user manual. While you could shower with it, the Inspire 3 could be on the charger and avoiding all the soaps, shampoos and conditioners you might be using.

Yes it is waterproof and you can shower with it on and all water lock does is makes it so your screen wont get controlled by water droplets so in other words it locks the screen but you can access it by holding both sides of your watch and going into quick settings on your device.

Since the 1960's it has been illegal to rate any watch as waterproof, because at some depth it will fail. 

The water lock simply disables the touch screen. You also do not want to press any buttons while the watch is in water.

Yes, water resistance is measured in pressure. While the tracker may be rated for 150. Feet, 50 meters, or 5 atmospheres. This assumes the tracker was lowered slowly and in perfectly calm water. 

In reality, these are only good for maybe up to 20 feet deep. Diving, currents in a pool, lake ocean etc, the return hose of a pool filter, or the sharp stream from a shower head may compromise the seal. 

There are international standards and 5 meters is considered ok for the casual swimmer.
